OH My W2 just arrived

I might see if it does turn out with something. Any ideas on something to bring it out if it does?

After HT finish to desired grit, I go to at least 800, then use a light etch of your choice. Ferric Chloride, warm vinegar, muriatic etc. Polish with semichrome or other very fine grit polish. It should not be shiny but have a subdued etch to it. This may bring out the hamon and the different metals. Might be interesting.

After a lot of hand filing! I should realize that I should stop hammering after I start getting tired since my blows start getting a little off which means a lot more filing work!
I noticed some curvature after I started filing! I am debating on how to get rid of it? I have not heat treated the blade yet so a little heating here and there shouldn't hurt. It is just such a pain to clean up the blade after you heat it up!
My filing is done freehand so I decided a marker might be an interesting technique to try and get some symmetry.

The recurve looks good to me. If you want to get rid of it then heat it to low red heat and the use a piece of wood to swock it back into place. The wood will prevent edge damage.

I'm planning on keeping the recurve shape it is just a little bow from left to right that is my issue.
I was thinking about waffling it between two pieces of wood or should I go between the anvil and a piece of wood?
Is that the trick when/if you get a little warp when heat treating?

If you are fully annealed then you can straighten it easily in a vise. No problem as long as you are not trying to go 90deg. minor adjustment can be done cold.

I am thinking about using a little hand torch (propane) to warm up the metal a bit to be safe. What do you think?
I hate to go through all this work just to really mess up a blade (hand filing sucks really, really, really, really bad!).

I appreciate all your help!!!!
I need it!

No need. it will only make you feel better. If you had hardened it then you would need to worry. But I still would not take a propane torch to it. If you feel safer then it will not hurt.
