Two weeks ago, I got my first CRK, a large plain jane Sebenza 21.

Today, I placed an order for the same exact knife... But with a beautiful raindrop Damascus blade!

Awaiting my second Reeve, also the Sebbie 21. Have a Jereboam II from the 1980's. My God man, whatever you do, never ever look at, nor buy a Busse, Swamp Rat, or Scrap Yard knife. Save yourself...:-)

I'm getting real close to pulling the trigger on a zaan. I'm afraid this will lead to a large sebenza and insigno.

I'm in a good place actually, first was a small insingo, lost that then an umnum and large starbenza, sold those, now I have a large 21 micarta and a plain jane 25 and feel like this is the sweet spot, YMMV lol

LOL - I'm in way over my head. I keep buying with the intent of selling one or two to pay. But I never get around to selling.....

Awww nuts!!! You bought it from BladeHQ, didn't you? I was saving up for that exact one to buy it next Friday... :(

If you could post a pic or two, I'm sure others would love to see them. (besides myself, of course!)

Great choice for sure!

It has taken me many years to get to the point of buying a damascus.. It may take me that many more to use it..(spirograph)
Would be curious to hear what you think of it after getting it.

Congrats!

No kidding here! I just realized that I still possess every knife I have ever owned as an adult. Including Buck folders, Gerber's, and Reeve's from the 1970's and 1980's. Why let them go? They're mine...;-)

Sorry for the delay. I'll try to respond to everyone in one general response.

I've been interested in Damascus ever since I found out about it many years ago. However, when I realized how expensive good Damascus is, I decided that I would never buy a knife with a Damascus blade unless it was the perfect knife. I've had many knives over the years, but none of them were worthy of a much more expensive blade. There was always something that I didn't like about them, until two weeks ago. I have used the my Sebenza quite heavily the past two weeks and couldn't find a single thing that I did not like. Normally by now, I have found a dozen things that I wish were better. Since this clearly is the perfect EDC for me, I figured I would pull the trigger and get my first Damascus knife. I fully plan to EDC this knife from the second I get it. I have heard and seen great things from those that EDC Damascus blades. I'm hoping that my experience will be great too.

I cannot post pics because I do not have it yet. I will post them as soon as I get it. It should be in my hands Monday morning. I will also try to remember to give my opinion after EDCing it for a couple weeks.

It's finally here! Sorry if the photos are a little poor. I had a very hard time capturing the Damascus. I could only get a good focus on the blade when sunlight was hitting it.

Also, my knife came with this leather sheath. My first sebenza didn't have that, I guess because it was much cheaper. Either way, it's a nice addition!

I'm very happy with the blade. It has a lot of character and really has that hand-made look to it. I've already made a few cuts with it and touched up the edge to really make it mine and make sure that I'm not afraid to use it.

That's a beauty!!!

Thanks!

Quick update on my first impressions:
The edge seems to be holding up nicely to everyday tasks. Can't tell much of a difference from S35VN so far. I'm hoping to get some free time soon to see how sharp of an edge I can get on it. I'll post again once I've sharpened it the best I can and used that edge. Also worth noting, the detent is perfect. Even though it's Damascus, it's still sebenza smooth and I can easily open it and close it.

Lastly, I briefly talked to CRK today. Something I did not know is that they will re-etch a blade if you wish. It's a $75 starting point and goes up based on how much work is needed to restore the pattern. In other words, I'm much less afraid to use it knowing that if it gets worn away, a little spa treatment can get it back to like-new condition.

Beautiful knife!

You do not get the sheath for plain and micarta sebbies. Once you jump up to damascus or any other inlays/graphics, you get the sheath.
