Oh no! Now my girlfriend has caught my knife obsession. Suggestions?

So my girlfriend has gone from "what? U want another knife?" To "aww, I want a knife!" Hehehe. I showed her a picture of the spyderco ladybug a few days ago and she's obsessed! I think I'm going to get her one and surprise her. Is the ladybug a decent blade? She doesn't care, she thinks its "cute" but I'm not going to buy her any junk. I'm going to get her a decent blade and teach her to use it. She likes "cute", she likes colors. I like quality. Any suggestions other than the ladybug?

P.S. She likes to cook and ideally I'd like to get her something she would enjoy for food prep too, but I still think I'm better off getting her hooked on something "cute" first. :-).
 
Get her a griptilian, or mini griptilian. You can customize them on Benchmade's website, lots of colors to choose from.
 
Previous to my knife obsession, I have a pellet gun obsession. Spent thousands on them, got some real nice ones but the HOA I live in said I can't shoot in my yard no more.

So now it's the knives.
I like it a lot
 
Nothing wrong with a ladybug, but it is a keychain knife. Did she get to see it in person so she can know how small it actually is? If she likes the size I say go for it, if she hasn't seen it in person you might want to consider something a little bigger like the dragonfly.

My wife liked my mini grip so i told her to go on the BM site and customize one and i would pay for it so now she has a hot pink handle with a satin serrated blade with all satin hardware/clip and couldnt be happier with it. If your G/F is really into the spydie lady bug then go for it :) the vg-10 steel is really great its like a smaller version of the dragonfly and i know you like that one so far hahaha. For food prep maybe see if she likes the delica they are exception knives

Just getting ready to suggest that exact knife. The Dragonfly Tattoo. Perfect.
 
I've actually picked up the entire Tattoo line for my wife (Dragonfly, Cricket and Ladybug), and she loves them. I also got her a pink Mini Grip. She switches them out in her purse every couple of weeks.
 
My girlfriend rotates a blue BM mini grip and purple Spyderco Delica (pocket) and always has her purple ladybug in her purse.

That's why I don't understand why people are posting replies like "griptillan" or "leek"
Come on people. Think small. Like Ladybug small.

I had one for a while, I loved it. Razor sharp, fits so well in a watch pocket, can go right in a key chain, opening was smooth. Just a great knife over all. I say get her one, for sure. They make it in a variety of colors, of which I beleive pink is one of them.

There you go cjz! You get it! ;-). I was almost waiting for somebody to suggest a Bowie knife! Hehehe. She wants to put one on her keychain and have a knife on her all the time. I think that's great! My hope is that she will actually find herself using it and might actually end up wanting something like a delica or mini grip. And so begins the adventure! Haha.
