Thanks man,
So does your 0801. They make it in Blackwash too and I like it that was as much as in the stonewash.

GSO get your scales sir ?

Sadly, no. It looks like my package is currently in Michigan, so will likely not arrive until Monday. :grumpy:

Oh an Warrior you dont have chiggers. You were bitten by them and your skin is irritated but they are not still on you. Chiggers do not burrow under the skin.... I have had chigger bites before and was told all my life they burrow under the skin... So when someone told me i was wrong i argued my point till i was blue in the face and wrong as ever when the other person looked it up online....

More Snark you can use...

Time to head out to the inlaws place. Its the potential sister-inlaw's birthday :D sounds like free steak and a stiff drink for me!

Makes your skin smooth as a dolphin...wait...where have I heard that phrase before? :D

Chicks dig it

Snark that you can use.

It's simply not enough to be incredibly talented, charming and good-looking... from time to time I try to post something that's actually helpful to my fellow human beans :D

If you ever get a chigger in the right place, it's amazing. I thought about starting a chigger business and selling them.

You sir, are a sick, sick man.

The cabin is looking great, Dubz, congrats!!

I found Tradewater...

Damn security cameras...

What up PF, how you been?

Chiggers suck.

Our old home remedy was bacon grease with extra salt added and wiped on like a poultice and covered with a rag (to keep from getting it all over the furniture. If it doesn't work, well, you got the fired bacon to console yourself with. :D That's one of the good things about fire ants. They seem to have wiped out chiggers for the most part around here.

After reading WW's post, I had to confirm that for myself. AND IT"S TRUE>!!!  They fall off.

From wikipedia:

On Handling Chigger Bites
Because chigger wounds are a complex combination of enzymatic and the resulting mechanical damage, plus allergy and immune responses, plus possible secondary bacterial infection subject to local influences, no one remedy works equally well for most people.

It is the chiggers' digestive enzymes in the saliva that cause "the insanely itchy welts".[30] The itching can be alleviated through use of over-the-counter topical corticosteroids and antihistamines. According to Mayo Clinic, the chiggers " fall off after a few days, leaving behind red, itchy welts," but normally heal on their own within one to two weeks.[31] Hot showers or baths also will help reduce itching. In cases of severe dermatitis or secondary infection associated with chigger bites, a doctor should be consulted.[32]

According to an Ohio State University Extension Fact Sheet:[33]

...After returning from a chigger-infested area, launder the field clothes in soapy, hot water (125°F.) ....As soon as possible, take a good hot bath or shower and soap repeatedly. The chiggers may be dislodged, but you will still have the stylostomes, causing the severe itch. Scratching deep to remove stylostomes can cause secondary infections. For temporary relief of itching, apply ointments of benzocaine, hydrocortisone, calamine lotion, New Skin, After Bite, or others recommended by your pharmacist or medical doctor. Some use Vaseline, cold cream, baby oil, or fingernail polish. (The sooner the treatment, the better the results.)....

And this is the little beggar that causes it...

I use to do the same thing for indoor gardening, id add a couple drops of lemon juice to lower the PH and leave the water out a couple days as an extra precaution before using city tap water to water any plants.

This is true. One of my assistant scoutmasters is an environmental engineer, and his studies included certain insects. This included Mosquitos, ticks and chiggers. Helpful in the scouting program. He informed me of this early on, of course I looks it up... He was right... Apparently it's not well known..

The Dollar Store is the only thing open right now, so I got the Vicks vapor rub, mixed salt into it, and the wife applied it. Damn, you talk about feeling good getting it put on. The salt was scratching the itchies, haha. Now, it just feels gross. Nothing like Vicks and salt rubbed all over your legs, then putting sweats on.

The funny thing is that everyone is surprised i was right about something..... :D

Lol, I think people will credit goggle more than will you WW. :D...... in other news, I just sat down for the first time today only to have my wife start complaining about the mess I left on the kitchen table....... granted, there is a small mess. But it was purpose driven. Got up today, went out to my buddies shop, hes out of town, so I took care of some stuff for him so he wouldnt be swamped monday. Long story short, that was a 10 hr, day. Picked up his 8 yr. old son and brought him home and he and I made a belt for his 4H project for the upcoming fair, (that was the mess on the kitchen table) took him, my kids and wife out for pizza, came home, trimmed the rose bushes, mowed the grass and helped my son and my buddies son (he's spending the night) set up a tent. Like I said, just sat down for the first time today, I think that little mess can wait till tomorrow honey!

Also, must of been in a mood today, ordered a bunch of steel for the next bunch of T.M.Hunt projects, a lot of 01 witch isn't surprising , but also order some 1095, and some other stuff to play with. Ought to be interesting.
