Hi Bladerunner308 -

Welcome to the forums - the thread that you just dug back up was from 2005 and was long forgotten until now.

best regards -

I am the designer and manufacturer of the Shark Tec, and any time you would like to put your money where your mouth is, and pay to have any one of my knives tested, I would be happy to take you up on the bet! Or, to be a bit easier on you, just send me a copy of your degree in Metallurgy, and I will eat my words!! It isn't likely to happen though, as you probably don't know much about metal, or anything else for that matter! It would be rather manly of you to at least attack a person to their face, instead of posting a whine to a website where you can hide behind a screen, with your Internet education, degree and knowledge! I have been making cutlery, along with many other things for 40 years, and one thing there is never any shortage of are experts whom are self appointed. I guess that goes along with the territory though. Whenever you sell something to the public, they sit back and take pot shots at you, claim to be able to do it better, and know more than anyone else! I have a knife manufacturing company that employs 25 full time craftsmen, so I couldn't possibly know more about it than you! What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking? If you don't want to answer, then I understand and wont press the issue. I would be a bit hesitant to let everyone know that I was being supported by those of us who work everyday, and don't have to rely on the public, or even an employer to get by!! Have a nice life, and thanks for reviewing my knives!!

Welcome to Bladeforums, Bladerunner308. I don't remember this old thread at all (though I see I posted in it), but I found a picture of the Shark Tec knife:

Could you explain what that cleat-like feature on the spine is for, please?

Pretty sure thats where you tie the anchor line:thumbup:

:D

i gotta say, i've seen threads bashing lots of knife makers, including some who post in this forum, and i've never seen such an unprofessional response. i know who i'll never buy a knife from

btw, i have looked through a fair number of threads by now, i spend most all of my time here lol.... if you know of a thread with a more embarrassing knife maker response, lmk

Is this not the dumbest thing you have ever seen? And I don't just mean because they want $80 for what is basically an opinel:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6586391632

Cold Steel twistmaster, which is an Opinel clone, with a tanto blade!

Hmm, our clone of a 500 year old knife design isn't selling to our usual mall-ninja customers. What can we do to make it look more appealing to them?

Actually, I don't know if this was something cold steel actually sold or if someone was feeling left out of the "tactical" trend. It's funny as heck either way.
Ebay has its clueless lot. A while back I saw someone selling an Emerson Super Karambit that had its grip ring ground off. Best of all, the seller thought it would be worth 225$ buy-it-now.

Arrrrggghh - zombie thread will not die . . .

Can we move this one to W&C so we can some real flamin' & fireworks? Yeeeehaw!! :D

thx - cpr

What kind of welcome would that be for Bladerunner308? It might not seem serious to you, but it's serious to him.

Besides, I want to find out what that cleat-like thing is for. :)
