Hank needs someone hyper to play with. He's go go go and then all of a sudden he picks a spot and is out like a light. Lucky is 10 and not even close to wanting to play as much as he does and gets really frustrated, but isn't mean enough to make him stop, so we have to separate them. Once a week we take her for a drive for an hour or two, so she can get away. It seems to help her quite a bit.

Just found out the garage fridge/freezer died...with the oldest boy's first ever deer (already processed) in it.

Saved what we could, but losses are significant.

Going to be one sad young man tomorrow when we tell him.

All part of becoming a good Knight.

So, a while ago I posted here I got on another rush and bought some pens since that's probably the thing I use most every day other than my computer...
1066vik approached me and said he likes to work some wood in his spare time (yeah... I found that weird too) but a while later this BEAUTIFUL ballpoint arrived. Big, big thanks 1066vik. What a cool community we got here!

Thank you x1000!

That's really nice, some outstanding people we have around here.
I am not into pens like knives, but I have a few I like. I got the parts to make two of the Zebra 701 / 402 all metal pens with the Fisher space pen refill. A close friend of mine, who lives a block away from me just got some of his Dad's old tools and got a small lathe. I may need to try to make a wood pen body to fit the Fisher refills too.

Stihl getting used to this new chainsaw..

you are very welcome - hope you get some good use out of it.
if you ever run it out of ink, it uses standard Cross style refills.

looking at the forecast for this weekend, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say "god hates I-70"
of course, it may also be an attempt by mother nature to give the Steelers an excuse to stay in KC for a few extra days to drink good beer & eat decent BBQ.....
even Boulevard is better than Iron City, after all)

After tomorrow, I have a weeks vacation. A much needed weeks vacation I might add. Been waiting for months for it, and it's supposed to rain/sleet/snow pretty much the whole time, haha. Still be on vacation though. ;)

If you gotta be stuck somewhere, KC is a good place to do it.

I wish we were having winter this year. We have had 4 days of winter so far. Last tuesday was high of 81, Sunday morning it hit 19, last few days have been 82-84 degrees. I wish it would make up it's mind for at least a couple weeks.

Congrats on the time off. I hope you at least get to do some of the things you want to do.

Oh, it will make up it's mind soon. Summer is almost here. It was a nice to have a couple of cold days.

I-70 definitely has something going on with it. It is is our dividing line for weather, it seems. Often times there will be rain North of I-70 and snow South of I-70 or just rain/ice/snow North OR South and nothing on the other side of I-70.

And the problem with this is that the Texas peach crop is really going to suck this year. Not enough chill hours, the warm weather is fooling the trees into thinking it's spring and they are starting to bloom. We WILL have a t least one more round of freezing weather, which will nip blooms and young fruit buds.:(

ZZ - Our Harbinger of Doom...

I'm also wondering how the bees are feeling... And we've got one hen stubornly sitting on 6 eggs and a couple more dragging eggs back and forth on the floor of the coop thinking about sitting. I suppose if she (or they) manage to hatch some, they'll stay warm under Mama if it does get cold again.

Was supposed to have a face to face interview for a new job today, but the guy wasn't able to make it to town. Ended up doing a phone interview with him. Sounds like I'll probably have the job. He wants to meet me next week if he can get to town and said he would let me know for sure if the job is mine by Friday.
