I have an ~5" lanyard on my Pioneer with a knot at the end. If I need to open one handed, I put the knot in my mouth, thumb in the nail nick pull taught and open the knife. I takes a little practice.
Dunno how much room you've to play with on a Farmer, but I'm guessing these are too big.
I wonder if you could scale it down with a thread, couple of bolts, hacksaw, abrasive, and Locktite. Especially if you crank it up tight while it is hot.
I had a farmer model for years. It was stolen or lost can't remember which hadn't been able to get one through any local stores. Fi naly found one tonight online. I will have to order one now as I too think it is the finest model they make.

I have a lanyard on mine and Ive done this before; it works, but Im just looking for a better way. Never liked this technique to much either, if for some reason you slip when opening it, you got a blade swinging around right at neck level not good

Yeah they look too big dont know about a scaled down version, there not much blade spine exposed when it closed, or room on either side of the blade when closed.
Ive come up with another idea for a wave since the blade on the farmer is so thick, I was think I could drill and tap a hole in the spine and then just loctite a small screw in and you got a wave. No idea how well it would hold up though what do you all think? Better idea then my first one
