Oinkfical SAR4 Passaround thread'

So how are you liking that SAR4 XLT? Send it my way! I can't wait!

lol ;)

Any pics?

I will take a BUNCH when I get her.

ok, first...sorry it has taken a little longer than it should have, came down with the flu or something
-i thought for a couple days i may have had the fatal swine flu...lol-

anyhow, yep...the SAR-4 is a great knife, it's a bit bigger than i was expecting, and at first i felt it was a bit out of balance for my liking...kinda handle heavy.
but the more i handled it, the more i liked it.:D

overall---a fantastic camping knife imo,not too big, not too small, just right:thumbup:
she is not a chopper, but for all other camp/hike chores, i think she will do fine.

here are a few pics, for your enjoyment:)

How are you doing now is the question? Did the bug run it's course and you are good to go? Nice collection of knives in all the right sizes!! Easy to see where the classy SAR4LE fits in there....

OK, the SAR4 has landed safely in Center Valley, PA.

Here are some pics I just snapped upon opening the box.

This is the first TRULY convex (Edge AND grind) I have had. It is fantastic. I will get a group shot later in my time with her. ;)

My point is to make the knife model accessible for those who could not spare the ching right now. Also, it's to bring some family sense back to this forum. Everyone here likes the styles and steel of Busse, whether it's SR101, INFI, or 52100 from the Yard, it's all good. I think part of the owning of a Busse knife is to spread the right attitude about knife ownership, and have it be inclusive as opposed to exclusive. Yeah, they'll always be some models only the deep pocketed among us can afford; but in general knives are something to strike up friendships with in my mind. The folks who came before me, Hogs like OP, Jaxx, MoriMo', and loads of others that have given me not only advice but the ambition to become a Hog through INFI ownership. My hat is tipped to all those who've extended a hand of friendship and generosity with their time.

I appreciate the mention in this post, but I gotta hand it to you, and to others who have done a passaround. This is truly some serious HOG spirit! One of these days (mebbe after the next mug run) I will get up offa my azz and do one, myself. It really does help folks get a handle (no pun intended!!) on a particular knife model first before purchasing their own.

You da HOG, brother!!:thumbup: Thanxx for running this passaround! :)

I just got a PM from on the edge, saying he is not part of this pass around, and he is not sure how his name made it on the list. Tracker1, this is just a heads up for you, his name will be taken off the list unless you know something everyone else doesnt. P easy will be shipping it to me next, but it was supposed to be on the edge. Is it possible the names got mixed up and it is supposed to be going to someone else before me. Might want to advise before we screw up the rotation. Thanks again brother.

No problem, if On The Edge, needs to pass it up onward it goes to you DBTAP45ACP.

And for the record this SAR4LE passaround is now being run by Jeff/91XLT, and he deserves the kudos:thumbup:

Though you are welcome Alex, and you and the bunch of folks taking time to discuss INFI off the bandwidth are what make being around here and owing INFI the Brotherhood that it is:thumbup:

OK, so it looks like everyone else backed out, so this will be moving on to ALASKA for it's final visit, and then back to Tracker. I will ship the knife out Wednesday as per request, if that is OK with the owner of course.

HUH:confused: Ok, just make sure that the knife is sent back down to Jeff/91XLT as he has dibs on it last. Sure there are no SAR4LEs up in Alaska for that person to check out? I mean their are supposedly a bunch of Hogs up that way, and none of them bought a SAR4LE by now? Alaska does seem a bit far out there from just a Pennsylvannia passaround, would'nt folks agree?

No problem, this is what I figured happened. Folks close to them, or themselves decided to pick one up and they've already seen it/handled one. I don't want to slight the person in Alaska certainly, but the cost and shipping times back and forth from the East Coast USA seem a bit out of place for a one time look see to me. If it had been going to ID, WA, WY; then I could see the point as it was already out that way.

I also backed out. There is a local hog with one in my town, and he kindly offered to let me get my sticky finger prints all over it. I figured it would not only save me the shipping, and the worry of loosing some one's knife in transit, but would give me a great excuse to meet my first infi owner in person. I have never met another infi owner in person.

You'll find INFI/Busse knife owners to be friendly and courteous in person, regardless of their scary looks:eek::D, lots of us like to share the love with someone who can appreciate a handful of Precious Metal:thumbup: As we all know folks who think $50 is a lot to lay out for a 'knife'

Hey guys,

No problem on the passaround. That sucks that it fell apart. If there would have been no SE's I think it would have been fine, but when the Boss released all those I think everyone bought in. I know I did. I was able to pick up an Orange and Black last week.

I have yet to see and fondle an LE and it would have been nice to compare the two, but I agree with your summary of events and support your decision.

Your generosity is still admirable though, so thanks for that.

Not sure who in Alaska wants to handle one but I recently bought one and would be willing to let anyone around here (Anchorage) have a look see.

Would love to Mulder. You are only a long boat ride and even longer drive away, unfortunately. I'm on a little island in Southeast, so i may be a while.
