I actually used my SAR4 to build a fire in our fire pit tonight and carve up a couple of marsh-mellow sticks for the kids tonight. I agree with the Skunk on his review of the grip for chopping, it works well, it will even split straight grained dry bolts pretty well. I did find a rock and took a little love bite out of the edge, and she wears a few scratches now as well. I think that it is a great all around medium sized woods tool. I know some people have bemoaned the thumb grips but I love them, they don't get in the way if you are not using them, but they are there if you do. They also throw sparks off the firesteel like mad. This is a great tool and I am happy to own one.
