OK..Collecting or for Use Survey

I'm too *poor* to be a knife "collector" so the knives I buy are to be used. I've been given a couple "collector" knives as gifts. I like them alot, but I never would have bought them for myself.

Thanks every one that has replied on this thread thus far. My hunch was sort of right! After reading and responding to various forums on knives off and on now for quite awhile, I had a good idea that most knife nuts end up collecting knives because they have been adding up from knives being purchased for use. Sounds like to me that most of us are in constant search for a better or perfect knife. Collections just keep getting larger and larger, and if you like to buy knives not to be used also, then the collection begins doubling in size, NEW & USED Catagories!
