Ok folder freaks.... Frames or Liners?

I'm looking at a particular model folder that's offered in several blade steels, handle varieties and either a frame or liner lock. Its a light duty, slicy type folder you could EDC in the office.

I'd prefer the S30V blade, but its only offered with a G10/liner lock. There is a D2 version I'd accept that has a stainless handle/frame lock but should I care about corrosion of the D2?

Basically the S30V is the preference, but I think frame locks are stronger. Does anyone think a D2 folder with stainless handle/frame lock is a better over all knife anyway? (for the intended use)

Whoops! Forgot the gratuitous INFI Shots

LOL! The Jerzee Devil does exist! That last shot is classic.

I prefer any folding knife to be a frame lock due to the significant difference in strength. That being said, my #1 EDC is a (hold your breath) UZI Defender liner lock which handles light chores just fine (box opening, light kitchen duty, ect). However, the DPX Hest folder is just about to be released, and I am pretty confident that it will replace my Defender due to its versatility...and bottle opener ;) Oh, and its a titanium frame lock with a g-10 scale, and the blade steel is D2. It could be worth having a look at!!!

Great... thanks gentlemen... A non answer and a reply with yet another cool knife I have to have. You're not helping! :D

I think DPx, as they have parted from ESEE and gone in their own direction. Either way bro, an Italian made titanium frame lock folder for under $200.00 is spectacular. IMHO of course!

I agree... and I'll probably get one. Its not what I have my sights set on right now though... for now. I already have a ZT300, so I have hard duty covered.

If it is a quality folder, under normal use, either a frame lock or liner lock will work fine. I have had neither fail on me.

Wow! It's like I'm talking to Charlie (mid-phase:cool:) in Flowers for Algernon. I actually had to go look that up to make sure it meant what it sounded like.

This is great. Where else are you going to run into a conversation about tools and literature referenced like this?
