OK guy's tell it..

A somewhat worn and decrepit 53, but it's still fun! I'm happy.

Not to be maudlin, but I live pretty isolated, and these forums provide a lot of companionship. Thanks to all!

42 this year, and just beginning to learn what I suspected all along, just how little I do know.

Where does it go indeed, my father just had the first brush with a serious life threatening condition. He's nearing 80 now and I'm beginning to realize how fragile he is becoming. Until now he has always seemed such a figure of strength and solidity.

My daughter is now 13 and will be starting highschool next year. I still see her as a laughing toddler with a head of curls. My son is 10 already and will be leaving Elementary school next year, still I see him when he was two , plump and full of chuckles when we took a trip to Disney. He had a broken leg but was inordinately proud of his cast and would thump along on it with great vigor!

Just as I have aged, so has my wife but I still find her just as beautiful as she was on our weddding day. Oh we've had our ups and downs but that's what life is all about. I haven't made as many knives, as many friends or as much money as I might want, but the people I count as friends I feel I could trust my life to, I make enough money to live on, have never burned a bridge behind me with any employer and the knives come as I get the time.

I suppose it'll all work out in the end!

51 and really feeling it today after a long evening (and early morniing) of playing pool and guzzling beer.
Regards,
Greg

Very well said Guy. I know what you mean as my son is 23 and my daughter is 13. I was 40 when my son graduated and now he is a year older then I was when he was born. My wife and I have been together almost 30 years. Man how time flies. I'm a late bloomer with knifemaking, but the friends and memories I have made in the 7 years I've been playing seriously with knives is well worth it.

52 but as Indy Jones said, "Honey it ain't the years it's the mileage!" ;)

And my odometer has turned over more times than I can count! :grumpy:

16 im prolly the youngest on this forum but i have roots in blacksmithing so it was easy going for me to get started. my other freinds gotta work at "the golden arches" i get to go to medival faires and civil war reeanactments and make cash(way better than what they make! :) )

I am a ripe old 34. I have put alot of hard miles on this body in the past 18 years, but I wouldn't change a thing. Well, O.K., I would change one thing. I would love the chance to go back to 16 years old, but still know what I know now.

Wow, that would ne a trip! The women wouldn't know what hit them and I would be a millionare to boot. ;)

All in all, life has been good. I think I can handle another 20 years or so, as long as this beat up old clunker of a body holds out. It is amazing at how those old injuries/abuse come back to haunt you as the years pile on. Heck, it sometimes takes me two days to get rid of a hangover, where in "the old days," I was ready for more the next day at noon. :D

i get to go to medival faires

I had a fellow who worked for me that was really into those things. He was made King one year but the Barbarians got drunk that night and beat the He!! out of him. :D
