Ok....I killed my Basic 5

Any treated, weather resisitant wood will give off some bad smoke :barf: generally arsenic if I remember right. What you have to look for is funny colored smoke. I've been called to burning complaints and seen people cooking hot dogs over the lovely blue-green flame of treated lumber. :barf:

As someone who has been on the recieving end of warernty claims, it is very refreshing to have a manufacturer state quite simply that you are covered. A warrenty is only as strong as its execution. And of course it is also nice to see a warrenty actually survive its implementation.

Reference the treated wood; any of the treated woods(green in color)are more than likely CCA treated. CCA stands for copper chromated arsenic, so you should be very careful with the stuff. Personally, I have a problem with children's playground equipment being built with the stuff. The splinters can be pretty nasty. Redwood or cedar last almost as long, and doesnt involve the toxicity issues.

No funny smoke here, guys!
As my grandfather would say, though, "Ah preciate yore intrest in my behoff";)

Cliff, receiving end? So you got the shaft. Did they reword their warranty after the fact? Or just put your name in the fine print section:p
That's what I like about Busse. There is no fine print section.

According to delivery confirmation, my Basic 5 was delivered this morning, so maybe I'll hear something about it soon. Curious if the HT was affected by the mods, though I honestly don't see how it could have been.
