OK, now I'm hooked... but do I need an Izula?

I'm nnot even going to read this thread. The answer to the subject of this thread is YES.

My story is just like the majority here.

My Izula has replaced my Emerson Mini CQC-7 and BM Mini-Grip as edc 90% of the time.

Go for it!

I have been banging my head against the wall for the last day trying to decide b/t a RAT-3 and a Kabar BK-11. It dawned on me that I could have the features I want all in the Izula! Whew. Decision finally (and happily!) made.

My local knife shop has the kits in stock in OD and Bl but I may have him order just the knife in OD.

Found this forum today and am having a great time. Thx guys.

P.S.
Did the OP pick up the Izula for himself..?

You don't need an Izula if you already have a Millie or Paramillie, they seem to fill the same niche. But you definitely want to pick up an Izula. I've come to the conclusion that my Izula is haunted. It seems to materialize in my pocket no matter what I'm doing or where I am, or what other knives I may be carrying at the time.

i NEED an izula. we were camping a few weeks ago and i spread cream cheese w/ the folder my dear sweet husband threw in my bag for me. I was pissed b/c there was cream cheese in the hole you use to open the knife. i'm done with it. it has to go and an izula is the perfect size w/ no hole for cream cheese to get stuck in of course!

You bet I did!! Plus another D2 Paramilitary, since they were on sale, plus a BRKT Bravo 1... madness!!

I also discovered a new to me on-line dealer (KSF)

Thanks for all the advice I got here!

Welcome to the forum!

GET The Izula.

Its not just about the knife.. its about the whole KIT if you get it. The carry options on this thing are really endless (Over used term).. but you get my drift.

You can just pocket carry, Belt, gear, 'bener, canteen, other knife attachment, neck, boot, etc... with 550 cord and sheath.. you can carry it anyway you choose. The sheath is half of the knife.. really. Small, smooth, thin, and the right amount of holes and slots. Amazing design.

Replaced my folder. I forget that it is there. Very Very cool knife.

Rat Cutlery really have a winner with this one. Thank you RAT.

(:D I am actually back down to only one tough, the other two I gifted to family members.)

Well, when I ordered my RC-4 I had no interest in the Izula at all and though it was the least desirable RAT to me. Now my RC-4 is gone and I have 2 Izulas.

You need at least one because it fills a different niche than a good folder. It can be carried in any manner and is a tough knife that you can work harder and not worry about than any folder. You get more for your money than just about any folder also. This is a tool to last a lifetime.

Hey, this thread is a little dated! Oh well, my statement still applies.

3 of them!

Lies! see here's Jeff underselling himself again.... there are FOUR colors. You need them all. suggesting you only get three is just silly.

I love my izzy. It's a small blade, but it gets a hell of a lot done. I replaced my folders the second I placed it accidentally in my pocket.

Wandered into this part of the forum a couple days ago, saw these things mentioned, and stopped by the local sharp, pointy things store tonight and picked one up.

This is a sweet little blade!

Sadly, I didn't have time to play with the other models, but he did hand me an RC3 and I darn near bought that too... But I figured I needed to do a little more research first.

Probably should have done the same for the Izula as I didn't realize there was a version sold with all the attachment options, as all of the ones they had were just knife/sheath combos. Wonder if RAT sells those pieces as a separate package?
