Okay Beckerheads, Let's See Those Murses (Accessories Optional)

I knew you were a closet bedazzler. I just knew it.

Well when there is such a great canvas to work from....one can't help one's self sometimes :D

Now THAT is some old-school murse. Thanks for sharing.

That is a nice rig.

To buy this setup, am I correct that the total cost would be about $100+.

To buy this setup, am I correct that the total cost would be about $100+.

Let's see...

Condor 10x4 water bottle holder ~$25
Fox Multi-Purpose pouches ~ $30 ($15 each)
Fox mag pouch ~ $8
Condor shoulder strap ~$7

Total was around $70. About the same as some of the Maxpedition rigs.
The parts are more portable though since all the pouches attach with integral molle straps.

This is my Mountain Murse

THANKS!!
I always liked the more primitive look. I also have the Ted Cash tobacco tin. The blow pipe is a good addition for a number of reasons. Fuel for fire, suck water out of pools, concentrate breath on coals, etc.

Hmmm... I've owned five pre-ontario Beckers. Can I post? ;)

5.11 Push pack. I sold my Maxped FB and kept the 5.11. There were features I liked from both but more from the 5.11.

It's amazing how much one can stuff in the main pouch.

Oh, come on. You know deep down that you want to look FABulous.

I think Flexxx could easily place top-3 with his latest pack...

someone bedazzled a tribble? how heartless! how... 70s :)

some of those murses have a lot of draw strings - on some of my bags, i use grimlocks or small carabiners to make sure they can't get snagged and open... or as easily pick-pocketed...

I have tried many shoulder bags in the past few years and none have been satisfactory. Too small, too big, I feel like Goldilocks sometimes. I was at a local gun show and I noticed the Finn gas mask bag for $7. I have messed with them in the past but never gave them much thought. For $7 why not. I honestly was going to use it for a tool bag or range/ammo bag. Started messing with it and discovered it can hold a days kit easily and with style. I had the leather shoulder pad strap from a buddy and it fit perfectly. Now for some patches!

Inside is divided. The main area has a button flap that secures several organizer pockets

The side compartment easily holds a USGI canteen cup and canteen.

Bag rides well and the waist stabilizer straps actually works and keeps the bag from sliding around. I like the shoulder bag concept because you can still carry a firearm or knife strong side.

Anyone on a budget looking for a nice bush bumming bag should check out.

Panzertroop, that's the bag I've been looking for. Haven't found them yet.

The water bottle setup like Guyon's is handy as the dickens though. I've got a lot of use out of mine since I put it together.

I'll post up shots later of the set up for outings but I carry a murse everyday. I can't seem to fit all my junk in my pockets.
Junk inside:
Pager (it's a work thing)

I didn't know pagers still a.) existed or b.) worked
Only Doctors and Street Pharmacists should require a pager...

Street pharmacists, lol. I didn't know those gas mask bags had pouches inside. I love all that mil-surp stuff because it's inexpensive. It's rare I get to actually handle the things, though.

Well since getting back I really have not made a post of quality so I thought I would jump in on this thread some and show off some photos.

This ain't really a murse since its a small pack but close enough I guess, this is often what ive been packing around as most of my time not at home or on a train is in the woods so its built to suit.

The more I learn the less I carry.

The bag is an Italian Mountain Rucksack ($15), which is pretty much about the size of a small school pack, canvas on the outside and rubber on the the inside.

Also I got a good amount of room for anything else I might want such as food, tarp...etc.

Oh, I copied trade and Moose in large part.
Moose was putting together a 10x4 kit, and I told him about the cheaper Condor version.
And I saw trade's kit at the last Gathering and liked it.

But I TOTALLY invented the idea of putting a glow stick on my murse. ;) :D
