Okay Beckerheads, Let's See Those Murses (Accessories Optional)

No problem man- it's a nice pouch, and the maxpedition gateway for many people. If this will be your first maxped product, tread carefully. If not, well, nevermind.

Got my Fr 1 pouch yesterday from clich's one hand fire contest! Thanks clich!

So far I like it alot. As soon as I fill it up I will post pics in this thread.

My personal design team at TackleF@*# Forge Fashion Institute set me up with this lovely olive shemagh, which coordinates beautifully with my murse. Thanks, TFFFI!

Heh, Columbia jacket! One of 2 distribution centers in the US is a few miles away from me. Brownie points with me if you can tell me what town it is.
Anyway, nice shemagh. your folks at TFFFI do good work.

Oh that's perfect. Friedmans?

Guyon what kind of pouches are you using for the sides and front of the murse?

So I've been putting together a murse project, and the endeavor has resulted in what I'm calling the Beckerhead Modular Murse (BMM) ©.
Weight currently comes in at 5 lbs. 14 oz. I know you guys like the exploded view, so I'm breaking it down by compartment.

Here I am modeling the Beckerhead Modular Murse © with my matching OD belt.

just ordered a MaxPed Jumbo KISS Versipack...looks like a nice rig for hunting and dayhikes. I like the onestrap concept...dont like a strap on my rifle-shooting shoulder so I been using a small backpack slung like a satchel. This Versipack oughta work much better.

What kind of pouches are those, numbers 3 and 4?

Google "FOX TACTICAL Multi-Purpose Accessory Pouch." I got 'em at my local Army/Navy.
I think Condor and ModGear may make something identical.

I have upgraded the murse kit with another 30-round magazine pouch for my handheld GPS.
I've also changed out the cooking components to an alcohol stove and a Guyot/nesting cup combo.

This is an old WWII gas mask pouch that my wife modified and gave to me for Father's Day. It's pretty sweet, and stays on the shoulder really well.

Not in my possession anymore, but this was a nice setup. I aint really sure what the names were exactly, but just a couple GI bags/pouches with a canteen kit. I added a waistbelt and a shoulderstrap. I only used it for a couple trips out but was a nice rig. The Maglite carriers make awesome hatchet/axe/tomahawk carriers.

Here's a quickie I snapped on a fishing trip. Usually use it as my EDC bag, but I can throw a few small tackle boxes in it and swap out a few items and it works great as a tackle bag.

I dont know if its a regional thing, but Ive always loved the man bag concept, but have NEVER seem anyone actually carrying one of these. Maybe it just hasnt caught on around here. Ive tried carrying one and love putting them together, it's like my version of a brain teaser and makes me think about possible situations in a proactive way (in public I always feel like the most prepared person in the room :D ) Thanks for all the pix and descriptions!

This isn't the best pic. I had better plans, but the extremely sharp BK2 that this Maxpedition Jumbo Versapack is dangling from wasn't in the tree far enough on my first attempt. When I hung the pack from it, the BK2 turned on me and jumped off the tree and sliced my thumb open pretty good. You can see the little first aid container attached to the pack is open and empty as I had just dumped everything out to get to the gauze and stop the bleeding. Other than that, it was a good day hiking.

Bringing back an old thread... hang on.

So I have been wanting a setup like Guyon's for a while now and finally picked up the pieces this past weekend to make it. I have been looking for a lightweight kit to store in my Jeep and use for those unplanned trips in the woods that Amanda and I find ourselves having more and more. So I pretty much ripped off Guyon's rig and put my own stuff in it. I wanted to keep this kit inexpensive but use things I know will work.

This isn't meant to be an end all be all kit, it is meant for an unplanned night in the woods.

Here it is. nice and compact.

Beckerhead patch in full effect.

In the bottle compartment I carry a Guyout bottle and a knock off GSI mug separated by a bandana.

In the outside pocket my trusty BK-11 and my sheath made by trailbum.

The rest is in the two side pouches. They are not even half full and I am not sure if I want to add more. Suggestions are welcome though.

Starting at the top 50 feet of 550 cord, Adventure medical kits space blanket, Drum liner, Small FAK, Katadyn water purification tablets, Altoids tin with various pre made tinders, UCO storm proof matches, Lighter, Cheapo headlamp, Ferro rod, Knife sharpener, duct tape, whistle, and signal mirror.

Like I said before, Suggestions are welcome.
