This kinda fits in here. My buddy was recently in the Navy Seal training program (BUDS), and was issued a Cold Steel SRK to use in the class. When two guys showed up for training with edges the instructors couldn't shave with, they'd bang the edges together. My friend's no sharpening master, and it sure served to make the next sharpening job that much more difficult.
