I'm pushing a 1991 S-10 Blazer, 4 door, 4wd, 4.3 liter motor. The 4 high is acting up on me, it needs a lot of little work done, it's on its second engine, at about 210k
, it will probably need a new transmission soon, most Blazers need the automatic transmission replaced after 150k. I've still got the factory AM/FM/cassette deck, I was playing a portable cd player through it, but I am going to cough up some change for a cd player. It runs, and runs well, surprisingly for the high mileage. The price was very good, I've maybe put about 3500 into it. The only problem is that I work about 40 miles away from home, and I love to travel, I put at least 100 miles per day on the motor, consequently, I am changing my oil about once a month, and I am filling up three times a week, that's at least 400 a month
.
So, I am saving up for a down payment on a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab or extra cab, 2002 or earlier (I hate the new design they came up with in 2003 for the front end), 4wd, maybe Z71, 5.6 liter engine or better, I don't need leather seats, cloth is actually preferred, I do need an AM/FM/CD deck, power windows and door locks etc, bucket seats. Throw a tool box on the back of the truck, and I'll be set.
