I'm just back from Eugene, home of the annual OKCA meet.

The good news: Joe H. arm wrestled me into submission, wouldn't take no for an answer and didn't let up until I bot some cutlery. Joe is back!

The other good news: Lots of terrific Buck knives, bargain prices, excellent people, tons of photos and I couldn't be more tickled with this wonderful day of cutlery celebration.

Leroy Remer is talented, gifted and wise beyond all known parameters. Ohhhh baby, oh baby and oh baby. The bullet proof clear 110s have stunned me in a way that I can't compare to any other knife experience. Nothing even comes close.

I talked to both Rusty and Joe today on the phone and from all accounts the show was huge and very very busy. Joe was a delight to talk to (as was Rusty) and sounded like he was well on his way back to normal.

Oregon, I hope you took some of your great photos and will post them soon. I envy you the experience of actually being there!

Here you go:

Leroy listed the steps to make these and It was a long list of what a perfectionist would do if he was building a knife for another perfectionist. Awesome work done to a T. It was beyond my imagination that these could made so well. Leroy says use NO oil. Clean, if necessary, with compressed air.

He had made a few extra, several bullet proof 110s and 112s. They were sold out when I arrived. I am not surprised in the least.

Bingo! We have a winner. Get a dirty glass onto the ready line. Congratulations. You are just walking around lucky lucky lucky. Buy a lottery ticket, go on a blind date and have that fish taco. Celebrate my lucky friend.

Very cool stuff O,

Great Oregon! Thanks for the pictures. Do you have any of Joe et al ? DM

Thank you for the kind words David.

Whoops! Uh, um, well, errrr and hurrumph. Didn't you see Joe's wife's hands....

You caught me.

Joe was wildly busy every time I visited the table. I was only able to get a word in edgewise as I was about to leave the venue. I told him that folks around the world, you all included, didn't want to know so much about the knives as they did about him and how he was doing. I tried to convey your concern and good wishes. However, no pics.

The BCCI table was go-baby-go with interested buyers. I tried not to interrupt any commerce.

My apologies, actual people in the pics... ahhhhh duh, next year.
