Chili,
It just the fickle fates of the forum. Everyone had a good look, made some remarks and decided what you had and moved on to something new. Its just life in the neighborhood.

I am not even worthy to be the dirt under some of the 110/112 peoples shoes. But it looks to me you have an old 112 (440c blade) with aftermarket scale replacement ( glued on only, except for spring rivet) which has been modified by use of the long knifemakers belt sander for that high speed corvette look. That date code is about the third or fourth issue of the 112 depending on what material was the scale. Micarta,Shedua or Ebony. Bet you lost 1/3 of the original weight of the knife. It's not valuable, unless someone famous did the work. Polish it up to a shine and carry it.... Good luck. Back to my 300series shelf........

Hehe, thanks 300. Only reason I posted more pics was because I was requested to. I appreciate all the information I was given in this thread!

Best regards,
Chili

Sorry Chili...I asked for more pictures and didn't comment after I looked at them. I agree with 300, "aftermarket scale replacement, glued on, third or fourth version and it's not valuable" past being a conversation piece. So yea, polish it up and carry it.

Come on back with your next find...there are folks here that live to talk about Buck Knives!! :)

I forgot to ask, what should I use to polish it up? Brasso? Thanks again

Brasso, Flitz, ? , ? ,....

Theres plenty of brass polish on the market, they all will shine it up like new! Enjoy that 112!

Sweet, thanks all! I have some Flitz Stainless Steel and Chrome Cleaner...would that be ok? I know Flitz has many different types but I can only find some others in big cleaning kits online and not just by itself. I also have Brasso.

Best regards
Chili

Some of you may remember me posting a 110 like that...or not.... So somewhere some time someone had some fun playing some...:D

So nicely done, though......I think it makes these knives into works of art when the knife-mangler is so incredibly talented.

I wouldn't just quickly categorize such knives as "users." They are unique and desirable knives that showcase the skill of the person who worked on them.

WOW!!! Maybe we can get a brazillion dollars for them on ebay :D:D

Seriously, oddities and fake 110/112's, properly displayed as such, would be quite interesting at a show. Maybe, kinda, sorta...

now off to see how much a brazillion is..

Thanks Chili.... Grab a small can of Brasso and yours will look the same. :D

I wonder if the same person worked on both of these... If they could only talk...lol

Small can is usually the 8 oz one.... Will last you years... Dont get the new paste one... Doesn't work as well.. I tried..

In my not soooo expert opinion it was done at the Buck factory..It was the thing to do for a while..And the few factory 'thinned' knives I have seen have that same look as yours..
