Seems to have aluminum handle on pins and the wood on the handle left over is almost petrified

I will say that with the constant gradual curve to the spine and the way that the edge would be presented along with the low heel would make for a nice parer on a new knife!

If you dont mind, since we dont know the original design, maker, or actual shape, I should be deemed "safe" in making one.
I think I am going to see how the Misses likes the design.

I dont know what it is but it looks to have great ergonomics. Trace it and make a new one to carry on its legacy!

Great idea post pictures if anyone decides to make something like it may try it to "carry on the legacy"

It looks like a thick hunk of steel that could be saved, soak it in vinegar for a couple of days then put and handle and edge on it have a sweet little paring or patch knife.

Clamp it in a padded vise and hit the handle with a stainless wire wheel. See what it has to offer under the junk.

I agree with soaking in vinegar for a couple days and hitting with wire brush. I'd at least give it a chance for life.
