"Old Knives"

I really like the lines of this old, Lockwood Bros, Sheepfoot!! Duncan sent it to me from new Zealand, hastily but competently repaired. It is heavily pitted, but I think this graceful pattern needs to be brought back to life (ala Tony Bose!) So The hunt for a competent mechanic goes on!!

Love that knife Charlie, I had the pleasure of hearing and seeing it open and close via video chat. Duncan nailed (see what I did there) 😁 the walk n talk back in that beauty   He was so excited to send that one your way

Nice to see that old ruin again Charlie- laughed at Paul’s post 😂
I like how that big long blade has a sleek gentle curvature to the Spine, a very nice feature of that Knife, I also like Charlie’s kind ( politely gentle ) words on the work 😊 hey… we find that a lot don’t we - especially in the older Pruners etc - the good ol’ Nail does the job!
Love the wee stove pipe kick as well!
The actual name of that blade ? Mm where it is not a Lambsfoot- nor is it a Sheepsfoot - far from those two in fact, more of a Rope Knife tip yet the blade is long and slim with that curve to the Spine. Nice!

Hey all! I have a knife I'd like to narrow down the age of. I wonder if you could help me with that. If this is the wrong place, let me know. I'm new here. My knife is a Hibbard Spencer Bartlet and Co knife with the number 2874. I've seen it on other websites and usually its described as having a rosewood handle. I know it's wood, but can't be sure about the rosewood. I've also see it described as a Hawkbill Pruner. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Nice knife Lord K, I'm sure someone knowledgeable will be along shortly:)

Was gifted this nice little penknife with a small/worn tang stamp I couldn't read.
A friend with a fancy phone took an enlarged pic and enhanced it, amazing to a technophobe like me.

After some searching I settled on
Was up the woods with me today in the piddling rain, nice horn scales and a meaty snap.

i have been meaning to post photos of my Schrade Arched tang stamped collection for awhile. Well, finally the visitors (friends, relatives, children and grand children) have cleared out 👏🤪 and I have some peace and quiet and can get down to important knife business🤭. I, found my first one (the English Jack) about 6-7 years ago and have been on the “look out“ (quest) ever since. They are NOT easy to find in good condition and when you do they can draw a lot of interest/attention. My most successful source has been other collectors or knife shows like OKCA. I have acquired two on Ebay—the Barlow and the pick bone bare head Jack. Anyway, hope you enjoy seeing these and your comments or questions are of course most welcomed! I wish all of you, my friends, successful knife collecting in the New Year and the Best of Health 🎉67654176-A9C4-4794-AD92-7005C869F1E0.jpeg
