"Old Knives"

A decent Remington R15 figural lady leg, seems most of these were used up pretty hard, looks to have full blades and a good etch. One way to separate original knives from reproduction is the spur on the 2 springs that act as the cap lifter, the reproductions tend not to have them.

Again and again John 🤩:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Lurvly nets on those R15 stockings !!
Very well preserved and it would rank highly in my meagre collection.
Now the OVB is really something isn’t it !
Longer than an average one and those Coco scales just glow. Both examples showing etches and quite a bit of steel as well !!
Tell me… are they both without brass, all nickel-steel ?
Edit: I believe I see brass liners on the Remi.

American made or post War German knife? Like the stag end cap.
Jaeger Bros (Aerial Cutlery) were one of the first American style hunting knives along with Marbles Co. This model resembles some of the Marbles hunting knives which isn't surprising since the two manufacturers were only 60 miles apart; one in Marinette, WI and the other in Gladstone, MI. I would guess this knife is 20's or 30's as Jaeger Bros / Aerial last knives were manufactured for WWII.

Augue nice French Kate! Not often seen as you say so full bladed.

That dogleg is just a great Knife - looks stunning in those gorgeous Wooden Handles.

Thanks Duncan, first of the original Remingtons I've handled, surprising solid heavy feeling knife, very well made, wish I had a GEC to compare it to.

Augie Augie , again John, beauties my friend. Now please look at my Remington I posted and tell me if it's fake or not? Seriously, I've seen many of the same knife all beat up from years of use but I always wonder???
It's a buyer I trust but even seasoned guys can be hornswoggled;) :)

I mean, I passed myself off as a good catch and Nanc has regretted it for 38 years:p

Thanks Paul, your Hanover Shoes Remington is legit, harder to find in bone, most were synthetic, also common for Remington advertising knives not to have a pattern number or etch. Here is mine in synthetic.

Thanks John, I did talk with the seller and he echoed everything you just said. I also noticed more Remington advertising knives in synthetic covers. Some vintage knives I don't worry much about as I tend to not find to many in pristine or very good condition. Then I wonder on certain frames why they would even counterfeit/fake🤔

Always enjoy your latest additions

I don't believe Augie for a minute Paul, I don't think the Knife is right- best you send it to me where I can dispose of it out of your sight my friend, and please .................. don't thank me- this is what Pals do for each other- I got your Back brother!
Duncan, you ae a true friend, I will include the Remington in the next shipment going out this Wednesday and knowing you, you'd insist I keep that pristine Buffalo Bill Scout pattern in return, so all is good my friend ;) 😆

Duncan’s done well describing all the above… as usual:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
