"Old Knives"

R8shell, I too buy older knives to "have a good look" - I think it's quite neat.

I love that single bladed VF of yours, and it was a good move picking up the worn two bladed example - man has that thing got beautiful Bone Handles!!
I totally agree - those Bolsters are very cool!

He told me he carried the one I gave him!! It was Ebony!!
He made a joke about it that got him tickled . He said he might of had it apart😉, but if he did you couldn't prove it by inspection🤣. That was a good day, we smoked cigars and talked.
Tony brought his Joseph Rodgers farmers jack to show me and said he would've given it to me if someone hadn't gifted it to him. I found my Thomas Turner farmers jack at that show .

Remington R4703……I like it a lot 😊

I like the moose pattern.

I acquired a Valley Forge knife a few years back in a trade. I haven't seen one just like it, except for a two-blader made by Boker, and I've always wondered if it was always a single blade or had a blade deleted. So when I saw this VF on the bay, I couldn't help bidding on it, if only for educational purposes. The blades are half gone, but the half that's still there are solid - no wobble. I sharpened it up and it'll make for a classy box cutter.

They both have the same slightly off center shield. 😁

Nice English Jacks r8shell. Valley forge a did a great job on the jigging,I especially like that bottom one‘s character and colors and the Washington bolsters are icing in the cake 👍🏻👍🏻 im curious to know if that top one was a single blade or a blade delete too.

Thank you. It's one of those mysteries. I also notice that the bone on the pile side looks somewhat different in color and jigging. Perhaps replaced at some point? If so, it's very well done.

I liked my new pictures of one of my favorite old Schrade Cut. Co. jacks. It has some real pretty bone, I.M.O. 😊 The small pen blade (not shown in this pic) was sharpened so much that it resembles a harness jack, otherwise, a fine knife. 😊
