Maybe you should have whacked it just one more time.
I commend you for your courage, peening on that old relic ............ in the first place. I bet you had no idea of how famous it was going to become. :oops:
 
No I had no idea Rob, I was going to grind up something to fit in the rats tail for the peening process - found a shank of a screwdriver that sat in the Rat Tail very well.
Once peened I sanded it back - didn’t try to do it too fancy - but very soon after you saw the pin move a little which told me my peening - well it wasn’t really peening - probably a hint of torture, but to get back the walk and talk with no side play I was as happy as a pig in mud- it was a Knife again.

I regret not taking a before photo of that knife - would have been great for Charlie to have that, I’m real glad Charlie grabbed it - little did I know Charlie was to wave that magic Wand and cast more spells 😊😮
 
My first thought is, "I want one!" Absolutely my favorite bone jigging, they are both stellar.
The NYK's kick seems so short, yet it rides higher than the Utica spear does. Is there something in the blade well, or is the spring left higher near the pivot to keep the blade clear of rapping?

I am impressed, again, by that "Flat Cap" jigging that Rhidian achieved!! :cool:

I always wondered who got the third of that Batch Charlie- or is Rhidian going to make some more?? Love the gentle sway back this knife has!

Mike - like others have mentioned Pic Bone is absolutely gorgeous- when you blue to the of those two stunners - there is quite a difference in depth and elongation of the “ Pics”
But wouldn’t we all love to be present and see the jigging machines at work in the day.
I remember mentions of this at the GEC Rendezvous and it’s a very guarded secret- the jig room that is.
