In fact, hold on......I probably wouldn't have as I didn't know they came out with solid Bolsters so would not have looked at it so hard!

Another Cut Co boy's knife, similar to Rob's. This one is also from Mike. It is 3 1/4" in length with steel bolsters and liners.

I don't think that Western Boulder stockman is German in any way shape or form. Whether it has been repinned or some other anomaly, I have no idea, but it looks exactly like it should (to me) to be authentic out of the Boulder, Colorado factory.

Nice one, thanks for showing it. It is interesting how the "lightning" bolt is milled a little differently on each one, I wonder if they are all from the same manufacturer or if several used the same technique.

That Lightening Strike is Utica, there is always variances in most of the punches, when I line up the same manufactured Punch in my HJ's and Scouts, there is always a slight difference, so definitely not a different manufacturer.

You will note that the width of the Punches shown in the Knives that have the Lightening Strike Punch in these last few pages are different widths, so of course this will effect the outcome of the actual Lightening Strikes width as well within the Punch Blade.

Utica also made the Punch with the Match-strike Nail Nick as well.

Here is an Empire that just arrived with some nice looking stag. Tang stamped on both blades and they are still nice and snappy with half stops on both.

Anyone know how to date Utica knives? I read one thing that said they stopped using Utica and switched to Kutmaster in 1947 but not sure if that is accurate.

M majorpain1 - my friend me personally no I can’t help, but have you tried to go source Utica Catalogs up until that change in ‘47 and from ‘47 finding Kutmaster Catalogs and see if you can spot your knife in there?
So rewarding when you do

Wow! Great Knives D Duckdog - but with probably the most lethal unstable Celluloid, are they starting to gas out? ( by the Bolsters-) I hope not because they are great, I probably wouldn't store these with my other Knives though?
