"Old Knives"

Some amazing beauties being shown on this page!
Recently picked up this Shapleigh Diamond Edge barlow. Appears to have minimal if any use.

Wonderful knife! I love how the corners of the bone are just a bit rounded at the bolster transition rather than contoured to match. Nice deep saw marks on the bone and great coloration.

Picked up a really rare Empire, Marked Empire over Winstead over CT. The knife was worked on at the factory custom shop to make the top bolsters dimpled. Very few of these around.View attachment 2380792View attachment 2380794View attachment 2380797
Nice one, Mike!! I had two of those, not as nice as yours!! They went away with my Empire collection!!
I was told they were factory customs, by a descendant of a cutler from the old Empire factory!! Yours is only the 4th one I have ever seen!!

Got this gent's congress yesterday, from an estate, for a few peanuts!! Got to looking at it, and it seems pretty old, and well preserved, if slightly abused!! I'm sure it started out as white bone, but it would be banned from the white bone thread, it is so age-stained!!
Attesting to its age, all the blades are stamped Fulton Cutlery Works, but no country of origin!! I think I recently heard most Fultons were contract knives!!White Fulton works 1.jpgWhite Fulton works 2.jpg

Steve my friend, as the others have said - Nice!!!!! It's funny, it's getting to the stage- that I am just nit interested too much- unless its a Lambs-foot or super GEC / Waynorth Knife, i'ts the older knives for me, kinda has been the main pursuit anyway. Like our Charlie says= always nice to see a Punch!

Thanks mate 👍 I'm pretty much the same. I was interested in the old knives before I even knew too much about GEC. There is nothing like the feel of an old knife IMO !
