"Old Knives"

IMG_3446.jpegIMG_3447.jpegWell I could not make it to the Little Valley show, however because of a couple of good friends I was able to get this super rare knife marked GALVANIC over 1882 and etched galvanic in script. As I’m told a lady came in the show with a box of knives and ended up at Steve Pfeiffer’s table. When it was shown to him Eric Albers was right there and took a picture of it and sent it to me. I immediately called Eric and he helped me make a deal for it with Steve who had bought it from the lady. Thanks Eric and Steve for helping me get this great piece. The group picture is of the 4 Galvanic knives I am lucky to own. Very early trademark of JBF Champlin😬😬

Was she the same woman who brought in one the of the missing old Case pistols? For those that don't know, way back in early 1900's Case had 8 revolvers made that they gave to the local sheriff deputies, stamped "Case Brothers Little Valley, NY". Up until recently, only the location of about 1/2 of them were known. I believe they said with that one that showed up at the Little Valley show, they now knew the location of 5 out of the 8.

One of the most impressive knives I've managed to add to the pile recently. A KA-BAR large 5 3/8" folding hunter with a locking swing guard. The swing guard is also the blade lock and has a Dec 4th 1923 Patent date on it. The knife is mid 1920's to 1930 with KA-BAR Reg. US. Pat. Off. tang stamp front and Union Cut Co Olean NY stamp on back.

Here’s an old one I’ve had for many years but never posted.
Now Mike, why would you keep that nice knife from us??? Nice Jack; with faceted bolsters!! It's about time!!! 😁

I don't remember if I've posted this old English Jack, but it's a nice old Taylor's Eye Witness, at just over 4"!!!
Typical Sheffield stag fitting from the old era!!! Not marked England, so could be late 19th century knife!!!!Taylor Eye 1.jpgTaylor Eye 2.jpg
Still full and snappy after all those years!!
Old Engineer Old Engineer , Harry, are you watching??? ;)
