"Old Knives"

Thank you, agree with you Challenge knives are a high quality vintage knife. It is hard to narrow down Challenge knives to a date range as they did not change tang stamps much, pretty much have to go by the characteristics of the knife such as pattern and bone. This tang stamp was one of the earliest and also has early bone so pretty sure this knife is around 1900.

Those first wo -the Robeson and Challenge are absolute stellar examples of what quality was available of the day, but this earlier stamp seems pretty darned elusive - not too many running around, this knife has lived a blessed life! Beautiful!

Both blades marked, nice old pickbone!! Etch still showing - $1.25(logo)PUNCH - !! Unusual punch - only at partial length!!! Probably from around the turn of the last Century!! At $1.25 it has to be early!!!! 😲
Wow Charlie, what a beauty!

I have a John Primble HJ with that etch and punch ( without nail nick ) - my punch tip is a little different where the complete first half (tip end) is concaved in - I'm guessing they would be the same just with variances we see between the punches at times?

Wonderful pick bone. Do you think that's the original length on the punch?
