"Old Knives"

There's a lot of miles left on that Empire! They did fit stag nicely in their heyday. And rightly so, since it was Sheffield cutlers who started the company, initiating that fine legacy.
They also blackened a lot of stag, giving it a more formal look.

Charlie that one in the middle is OSO SWEEEET!!

It's kind of a "before" picture of the one you posted. Lucky find - as any good old knife is.
Thanks for feeding and caring for this thread, Vince. It just never quits!

I recently picked up an old Robeson Regular Jack dated to somewhere between 1917 and 1939. It still has a ton of life left in it to top it off, it takes one wicked edge!!!

Top is a Queen from the twenties and the bottom is a Kent , I'm guessing 40's. Blades have the tips broken and some serious wear on the secondary blade of the Queen. The real bummer, though is this-

As you can see, or mayhaps you can't but the scale on the Pile side of the Queen is broken. Such a shame as this is really nice bone.
All the Best,

Well, that´s a pitty! Here in germany, we can´t find any of theese beauties... On a fleamarket perhaps, but mostly it´s really destroyed.

6 " oal, 2 " blade, nicely figured polished horn handle, used, sharpened, stains and spiders, approx. 1910 - 1920, weighs exactly one ounce

My grandmother gave me this knife yesterday, it belonged to her father. Her father (my greatgranddad) was born in 1895 and got this knife in his teens when he was working at the docks of Antwerp harbor (Belgium). She doesn't know if he made it himself or that he bought it from a local knifemaker. Anyway, the knife was in bad shape, all rusty, filled with dirt. I cleaned it up but some of the patina is still there (I don't mind). I took some before & after pictures. I've also added an edge to it, but have no pictures of that yet.

You can clearly see it's and old folding knife (approx. 100yo), strange locking mechanism as well. Anyway, enjoy!

I still got some work to do, but this is the result so far. There was still rabbit hair in the handle (he used the blade to skin small game etc.) and since this person died in 1978... Go figure
