"Old Knives"

What is the length on the stainless Rogers? Are the scales smooth bone or?

Both Knives are really nice ones!

Thanks for sharing

Ken

Thanks very much Ken. The scales on both are ivory. The length of the Rodgers is aproximately 3.25 inches closed.

When I grow up, I wanna be just like Charlie and smiling-knife! :D.

s-k, those knives are both just beautiful. The "victoria" is truly sculptural; exquisite piece!
Thanks for the peek into history!

But why would you want to grow up!!:confused:

:D:D:D

Good point Charlie.

This jumbo pen knife was made by George Butler. It is aproximately 4 inches long .

Thanks very much waynorth. As that one was so well received, this is another jumbo 4-inch sleeveboard PEN knife circa late 1800 made by an unknown Sheffield firm for the Army and Navy department store in London.

I think it is remarkable that these long slim knives survive for so long! You can get more leverage on the blade, so abuse is magnified! Not that I have to warn anyone here!!
Another nice piece, s-k!

Those are all very nice, S-K. I especially like the ivory one on the previous page.

I will add some dingy scans of this Empire dog leg jack just to keep S-K's and Waynorth's pictures from sticking together. 3 3/4 with what I'm told are rosewood scales.

Real nice Empire, Mike! Old American Jacks are like Mom and apple pie; kinda make you warm and fuzzy inside!

I'm posting this one here since waynorth had asked me to show an image or two after it arrived.

This is a Case 6347 (3 Dot, 1977) stockman which I received today.
It's mint but won't be for long as the blades need some sharpening and this knife begs to be carried.

I have a 64047 inbound which should be arriving (hopefully) over the weekend. The 64047 is a six dot (1974) which has muskrat style clip, pen, spey and punch.

The two years are significant for me. I graduated college in 1974 and began my work with the federal government in 1977. Two turning point years in my winding path.

I'll post images of the 64047 in a few days.

Hard to find a purtier stockman than an older Case!! Great score, Blues!!
I carried an old Tested Greenbone for years; finally let it go in Oregon to a guy who was looking for an EDC of the vintage persuasion. The GB was cracked, the blades were slick black/blue, and it was beautiful (sniff), but it'll never die!
Live long and prosper with your 47's Elliot!!

That is a beauty. I really like the older Case redbone.

This is sleeveboard pen knife was made by Lockwood bros and trademarked Real Pampa Knife. Lockwood bros did lots of business in South America hence the name and ostrich.

It's great seeing a Remington pruner.I always associate them with sporting knives.
I like those slim pruners, Vince; they remind me of the one Tony makes!
Here's a couple more Rems for you, Navi! An R708 with an alternate etch, and a used but loved R698;
