That's for sure. I only have three H&B knives and they are all very well made. Those pearl whittlers are outstanding!

Both are of those H&B knives are dandies. I like the pen blade on the jack and it looks like there's a lot of gold leaf under the tortoise scale of the second. Thanks for posting them.

What a coincidence! I picked up an H&B at an antique store on vacation. For being over 100 years old it is in very nice condition. The original owner definitely took care of it.

This knife is marked Northfield Knife Co Un -X- LD ". (1858-1919) The knife measures approx. 3" in length. The blades are approx. 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". The larger one is etched, as seen in the photo. They still have original mirror like finishes. Pearl handles are beautiful. Blades are very tight. Story is that this was something that was passed down in the family and not used.

Charles, in my book the sign of real cutler's talent is an exceptionally ground small blade. That Northfield is a good example, both master and pen are well done.

Another Northfield UN-X-LD Knife Co. a Wharncliffe whittler stamped with Northfield Knife Co. on small blades, (1876/1919) ,3 1/8" closed,genuine pearl handles ,it is in excellent cleaned condition. Charles

Lawton Cutlery Co.(1890-1895) Pearl Rev. Peanut. The knife measures 3". Pins, shield, bolsters and liners are all nickel silver. The blades are both marked and in excellent condition with hard snap and half stops.

The handles are genuine mother of pearl and in nice shape No chips. The Bolsters are Nickel Silver and the liners are brass.
