"Old Knives"

Great looking old Walden Paul. Congrats... Nice line-up you got there Duncan. It's
always nice to see a group shot...

1919- 1940, 4 1/2" closed, pinched and scribed nickle silver bolsters, nickle silver shield and pins, brass lined, chip and crack free bone scales. Nice tight snap, carried, used, sharpened, pocketworn, but overall a nice, clean example with near full blades , all on a single spring with a tapered catch bit that serves as a blade rest for the long master. In spite of its length, it sits nicely in the front pocket.

Have a great weekend,be safe.

I quote....
" Here's an old sharpened and carried R1306 Remington Bullet Knife that's not new like the other two bullets you have seen already ( R1253, R1123), but it's in pretty nice shape. It's been sharpened, and the etch is a little worn, but it has some of the nicest stag I've ever seen on a Remington, and the blade is still full. "

" Here's some group shots I found of that R 7833 Anglo Saxon half whittler along with several other knives you have seen already in previous posts except for the Remington R 4733 Dog Groomer and my Randall miniature 25 desk knife. There is one with original IXl and Joseph Rodgers Anglo Saxon whittlers and their blades, and other Remingtons....R12153 Bullet, R1123 Bullet, R4733 Dog Groomer, R1863 all Nickel Silver spearpoint, then one with various previously posted knives and the blue pen, and the miniature Randall (6 1/2" ). Gives one a better sense of how large the knife actually is when seen among other similar sized knives, while still remaining only 1/2 thick at it's thickest point. "

What a treasure trove, Vince!! Light beams of sunlight through the looking glass...a prism of beauty on Sunday Morning. Thank you.
