"Old Knives"

Jack, I'm just now late home from a 10 hour work day, but what a little gem the Oates is! I'm enthralled by the coined bolsters!!

Thanks a lot Jeff :)

Fantastic knives Randy

Randy, the botton knife of your second pic post, who is the maker? Looks quite german to me. I like the idea of these caliber knives for shotguns without ejectors.

I put markings with pics if you want to check them out. Still need help on the first one?? Its a beast. 9" closed.

This isn't a knife post but thought that some of the wisdom here may be able to help me identify something .
It is a Carcass Splitter Cleaver that was used in a Slaughterhouse .
It is a big Cleaver , I've put a wine bottle beside it to give an idea of the size .
The only markings on it are half worn away .
Does anyone recognise the makers mark or what's left of it ?
Any help would appreciated , I've asked over on the Axe forum as well .

This thread has blown up of late! Blademan, great NYK Co. whittler! Part of the Emberton auctions?

ISK, I've only seen one of those COQUANOC knives come up on eBay for the past 10 years or so. Thanks for posting it.

Jack Black, that Oates is a very cool knife with the coined bolsters. I don't think I've seen that before.

Randy W. Those are some great old knives. I really like all of them. Huge score!

Picked up this old TEW Pruner yesterday. Here it is, just as it came to me :)

Hello Jack, ^^ Now there is and interesting piece. ^^ Lovely bone too. :)
Do you know if that Taylor is related to the same Taylor that bought the Schrade name?

Thank you :) No relation so far as I know

Two great knives Jack. I love the butterfly.
I love the pruner too. I note the name TAYLOR. My whittler [a few posts back] must also be a TEW as the stamp looks the same as yours. I had wondered about this.

Thanks my friend. Yes, definitely

I'm just uploading some more pics, but it's taking an age!

Thought I'd upload some more pics of the TEW Pruner I picked up, but for some reason it's taking hours! Here goes for now!

That Taylor is magnificent, Jack!! I just love the whole thing...and that eye stamp....you hit he jackpot:D

Excellent Jack. That pruner is the kind of knife you hope to find in an old antique shop but only end up stumbling upon .0001% of the time!
Also, what a fascinating pearl butterfly.
