"Old Knives"

Jack .... That is a very smart fruit knife and with a stainless blade. The style looks early for stainless. A beauty.
Well done finding the WRAGGS Guide knife and with a belt too. Don't try to get into that belt on your own !

Augie ... The stockman looks good with plenty of blade left and a good colour. A good find. Nice pics.

Thanks ADEE, there's an ACME Guide whistle to go with the belt too. LOL, the belt is TINY! Maybe I can swap it for a Boy Scout one! :D

The old Stockman looks right at home in that beautiful picture. I hope it makes it into the rotation now and then.

The fruit knife is superb!! Love the bolsters, stamp and flower work on the MOP....wow!!

The Wraggs and belt are just a wonderful piece of history.

Augie
Just a sweet Primble! Great capture.

More fine knives everyone, here is a Primble I picked up late last week.

Augie - thats a real nice knife - hey...not that the others shown arent :o, but thats a nice early made Schrade - great Peach-seed Bone- Slanted & Threaded Bolsters + Matchstrike pull...... man this is Rolls Royce:eek:

Thanks for the kind words Gev

Here's an Abram Brooksbank penknife, blade is stainless.

Jack ... Lovely Brooksbank. Bone covers ? Good blades in early Stanless. Is it still sweet ?

stargawker ... The I-XL is a great find. It looks like it will clean up very well and yet still retain its gravitas. I note some graffiti on one of the scales. That one just needs to be luvved.

Augie .. Another great find. Straight into the pocket with that one.

Thanks ADEE, I think it's tooth. Still pretty good despite the chip

A Schrade and a Syracuse landed today. Here, at my house, not on a comet. ;)

The "Say it with Flowers" is my first real deal old Schrade Cut Co. knife. It's got some light surface rust and a little pitting but everything else is in very nice shape. Excellent snap, no wobble, blade seems barely used. Anything with a single sheepsfoot or a sheepsfoot main blade tends to catch my eye. On top of that there was an old post from Charlie showing the range of the florist-themed Schrades and once I'd seen that I decided I wanted one.

The Syracuse jack is also in nice shape. The tip of the pen blade is bent out a bit but no big deal. Walk and talk are good with a just a bit of wobble on the main. I love the tip bolsters and federal shield (even with someone scratching initials on it).

With a bit of cleaning, oiling and sharpening they'll both be ready to go in service.

Two good 'uns there Nate, nicely photographed too

Nice SIWF florist knife Nate. I am with you on a single sheepfoot knife. They are so purposeful looking, and actually useful! That's a good'un!

This 1924-1930 Remington UMC jack has arrived yesterday, actually 4 days after I purchased it from a collector in the US, faster than local mail (go figure). Anyway it was in an as found condition, full of dirt and rust, heavily scratched blades and the main blade had a lot of nicks, more like a saw. After 4 hours in an oil bath and couple of hours of constant work, cleaning and polishing and re-profiling the main blade its beauty came out , so here it is
