"Old Knives"

Philll
Outstanding knives...wow!!!! Love the bone on that magnificence:thumbup::thumbup:

Barry
Both of the Robeson are tremendous!!! pun intended:D

Thanks all for the comments on my HSBs. I am fortunate to have found them in such nice condition. I am particularly impressed with the jigged bone. It looks older to me than the cocobolo knife, but what do I know? :D

Here's another oldie, stamped WOLFERTZ & CO ALLENTOWN PA

Nice HSBs Philll! The Bone is definitely older - breathtaking!!

Nice Wolfertz too. Schrade did a lot of their knives - ?!?!

Great Robeys Barry!

(Forgot to raid the Primble Cabinet) :D

Primble - that's a jaw dropping photo of an absolutely incredible collection of old Barlows. Very, very nice.

Always appreciated my friend. I had been meaning to take a group picture for a while. The Tom and Huck thread posted today reminded me to do it.

Primble
Spectacular!!!

Primble, I am glad you were inspired to take a picture. I always enjoy your images of your great knives. This one is particularly splendid. Thanks for sharing it.

Very much appreciated Gevo and Chris. I really wish now that I had included my Primble Barlow from Paul in the picture. The light was nice (sun had just set) and it was a race against time to get all the knives outside, arranged, and photographed, before light loss and f stops became a problem. ;)

Need about f8 to keep all the knives in sharp focus.

I simply forgot it, until later. A pic for another evening, I suppose. :o

Barry, that jumbo Robeson jack is great. Is there a pattern number on that knife?

The long pull on that EO pushes its date way back. I think Robeson stopped using long pulls fairly early.

All the knives posted here recently are really appealing.

I was hoping some of you might be able to help me date this knife I just acquired. It measures 3.39" closed, with clip, sheepfoot and pen blades, with an EO cutout for the pen's nick. Pics below of all the tang stamps, it appears to be a number 3218 ¾ cattle knife. Best I can tell the stamps say E.C. SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER on all blades. All help and info appreciated. Except for the chip out of the clip blade, it's in great shape. Pretty full blades, nice and tight with good snap on all blades, and the bone is perfect. Plus, I got it for a song (well, almost!). ;) I still have some cleanup to do on the bone covers, just a little mineral oil and a toothbrush to clean them.

Very nice Keen Kutter Jeff. Edward Campbell Hardware co. was active between late 19 century to 1960's. If I need to guess I'd put a 1930-40 (a guess only :) ) time frame on it. Anyway great knife in good condition and very nice bone handles.
