"Old Knives"

Here's a few nice oldies I've added to the collection recently. Unsure if the Primble would be considered a barlow or not due to the shape but I've since this pattern called a barlow plenty of times before...

Paul, very nice dogleg!! Does having two mean you've begun a new subset to your collection? :)

Thanks James, I think I have subsets to my subsets when it comes to collecting:o:D

Both very NICE Nick, I think Hatch and Challenge Cutlery have history together? the Challenge Sway Back I just rec'd is such a fantastic knife, WONDERFUL f&f:thumbup: Is the Hatch wood or synthetic covers?

The Primble, definitely a Barlow in my book:cool::thumbup:

Some neat finds, guys. Harry, you're going to have to tell me where there are antique shops in WI with old knives!!!

Just down the road and up the block a piece . Just past the big oak Tree and turn left at the sign . If you go past the big Maple , you have gone too far . And it kind of depends on where you are starting from.

Just thought I'd post my 3" Schrade Cut Co doglegs together. Both are so well made, solid blades, centered in the well, halfs stops and flush in all three positions:thumbup:

I usually carry a bigger knife but find it hard not to carry these. Such wonderful little slicers:cool: please notice the Fantastic 33ft Bakelite Tape Measure, a gift from my good mate Mister Duncan Morgan. He knows I collect vintage tape measures also and he so generously sent me this one. It is the pride of my collection:thumbup:

Why is it featured in the vintage knife thread, why to show the length closed on these great little Jacks;)

Paul two beautiful SCC dogleg folders:thumbup: Wonderfully photographed and staged! Those two folders are just the kind and size I look for and really appreciate. If these two don't get your collecting juices flowing have your pulse and blood pressure checked you may be deceased:D. Lloyd

Sweet looking little Jack knives Paul. And you got to love the way the brass looks against the rich dark color of that tape measure. Nice.:thumbup:

That is a wonderful HOK NYKC Eurek Jack Gev:thumbup: Nicely photographed and staged by the way! Lloyd

Great pics of two wonderful knives!!! Both looking good presented with that interesting tape measure!!!

Thank you James, sometimes I get lucky and take a decent picture. Mostly they're out of focus:o:)

Thank you Duncan, it's the tape measure that really sets them off;):D:thumbup:

Here's a "BELKNAP HDW MFG CO" tang stamp Jack in wonderful jigged bone. I've been fortunate as the knives received lately have such solid blades and nicely centered in the well. Nice crisp snap with half stops. The main is a hair short and I feel slightly re-profiled. The covers are chip and crack free.

From Robs famed Primble thread the various makers for Primble/Belknap knives where Schrade, Boker, Cammilus and Utica?

If so I'm leaning towards Schrade or Utica? Anyone with more insight please weigh in:thumbup:
