"Old Knives"

That's a nice old SAK, North Shore! Sorry I missed it yesterday!
Don't try and remove all the patina, IMO. That's what gives it its venerable character!
Beauty!

An interesting scoop of knives, John. That Lockwood is especially spectacular.
And, I always love seeing your Redbone Barlows!

I agree- those Red Bones are awesome Augie- that One Arm razor is something else I can tell you!!

The Lockwood Bros. ...well Charlie has already said it- what a find! I think that Camillus Washington is a beauty, I have a Challenge like that as well- Amazing Knives!

View attachment 702495 These knives are from my Case XX collecting period, maybe 15 - 20 years ago.
My kids were gaining some measure of independence, and I was making a little money.
Now I make very little money!!
Nothing beats that old Case red bone. Especially that big old slab on the loom fixer.

A customer of mine knew I liked pocket knives so he gave these to me today. He pulled these out of tool box. Turns out he owned a hardware store in the past. He says he sold a lot of Uncle Henry's made by Schrade Walden.

1940-1964 Case Sodbuster - I have already used this one. This is my first Sodbuster and must say that it feels really good in the hand when cutting.

Sabre brand barlow? The bolster might be aluminum and the handles are some sort of plastic.

Travman, love the Sodbuster!!! There's something about a well used knife and that one could tell tales I'm sure:thumbsup:

First off, my apologies to my best friend from New Zedland (inside joke there) and I don't care if he's my only friend from New Zedland:p the apology is for not posting an unbelievable collection, yes COLLECTION of amazing pruners Duncan gifted me. I'm working on an oak display case and have not taken pictures or paid homage to Duncan yet for his mind boggling gift.

I will reveal his AWESOME generosity in the Prune Big or go Home thread soon:thumbsup:

For today, two recent Pruners that I'm so pleased to own. A Hammer Brand advertising Pruner with amazing wood covers that my pictures fail to capture.

Second is an amazing Remington bone Pruner with some of the most beautiful bone covers I own. The Remington is circa 1924-1933.

The Hammer Brand measures 4" closed where the Remington measures 3 5/8 closed.

Paul,

I have always faced the dilemma of which I preferred, wood or bone covers? Your recent pair has unfortunately done nothing to help solve this conundrum...

Both simply gorgeous.
