That's a good looking old knife knowtracks. I think they are both much sharpened pen blades. This is a two-blade version without the file.

Vince, you zeroed in on a rare duck! it's sorta like a three backspring whittler, but with 3 full length blades. It was in Camillus's pattern drawer at one time, and was given to Phil Gibbs, by Albert Baer. Might be the only one!!

Brown Bros. Whittler
"3 1/4 " closed carved bone whittler w / decorated bolsters and a Stanhope viewer in the rear bolster. The Brown Bros started Union Razor Co around 1900 which eventually was named Kabar around WWII. They had these made in Germany and brought them here to be sold under their name prior to or around that time. They were only made and sold for a few years. The Stanhope viewer is perfectly intact and crystal clear, however it's image has deteriorated over time and is no longer recognizable. These viewers were popular around the turn of the century and put into a variety of items, some knife bolsters for one. Fairly scarce knife, still tight as new and quite snappy in spite of its heavy use, very well made. "

All Great Knives Vince and Charlie man thanks for posting them. Vince that R 1253 Remington Lockback, that is the grail Knife to me AMAZING!!!. You are 100% correct the bone on Remington bone scaled knives was never called Remington bone.. I know a man about my age who's dad owned a hardware store and was a Remington Firearms and Cutlery dealer. This guy has quite a Remington Firearms and knife collection, he is very low keyed and doesn't show his collection, I guess his children will have quite a time some day. Thanks again for posting this one...
