Snagged up another old Imperial easy-open... I've got a couple of these guys now![]()
Here is a Clauss I got recently. 1930’s? I don’t know much about Clauss knives and it’s the only one I have. Love the swedges on the main blade. I’ve read that Queen City, Robeson, Challenge and maybe Case made knives for Clauss. Wondering who made this one, I hope you guys chime in. Sorry for the poor lighting, the sun was setting and was rushing to take some pics.

a couple of old Imperial shell cell's with psychedelic colors![]()
I second this is probably a Challenge made one. Although my experience is very limited, it has the exact same shield as my Challenge harness jack. And the color of the bone is pretty similar to the pile side of mine. The mark side of mine has faded. If I were to choose from the list of manufacturers in your post, I would say that this was made by Challenge
I’m not really into celluloid covers but that is a cool one. Psychedelic for sure like you mentioned. I’d like a surfboard in that swirl of colors. And for a change of pace... a couple of old Imperial shell cell's with psychedelic colorsI'm not sure about the age on the first one, I haven't seen the "IMPERIAL" over "USA" stamp in any of the tang charts. The patent numbers put it in the 1942 range which makes sense since many manufacturers started adding USA to their tangs following WWII. The second knife is a c.1945-55. They may have been cheaper but these two knifes snap like rat traps

I remembered waynorth giving me this info earlier in the thread about my Challenge harness jack, in regards to the patent number on the punch. So very probably my Challenge was made by Empire, so maybe your Clauss to.Patented by Seymour Alvord, for Empire Knife in 1906!!
Empire was huge over the turn of the century, making knives for many companies.
More I look at these awesome knives, the more I think the top one looks like raw beef, and the second reminds me of bacon. Maybe I'm just hungry,And for a change of pace... a couple of old Imperial shell cell's with psychedelic colorsI'm not sure about the age on the first one, I haven't seen the "IMPERIAL" over "USA" stamp in any of the tang charts.
