"Old Knives"

Recent arrivals. The shields against the ebony lured me in. Camillus 4 line and Ulster Ellenville. Both well used but I've got a coke bottle thing at the moment :)

I tried to get Bill to commit to a full-on Wharncliffe Whittler, when he made the Willamette Whittler for Derrick Bohn, but he said he was through with whittlers for a while!! He did the clip-blade whittlers then also!!
Maybe some day!!!???
Willamettes:

Ivory, Mammoth Ivory and Cocabolo( I think ) Beautiful, just beautiful!, I wonder if there was Empire Linage in that Ulster Ellenville?

Charlie and I were speaking just yesterday about the Camillus Golden Era of such beauties that Camillus came out with, your coke Bottle is definitely included in that my friend- Wonderful knife!

Some great knives posted guys, and V.P. that Sheffield fruit knife is just stunning!!!
Old fruit knives are way undervalued for the work and quality that goes into many of them.

Thanks Duncan!

Rob the coke bottles are so beautiful. Stuart's constant stream of ebony cokes have me salivating but your two are exquisite. Well done.

veitsi_poika veitsi_poika - Kevin that fruit knife is crazy stunning. WOW what a gorgeous piece!

Actually there are page after page of magnificent knives posted but I try to be quiet since I don't have anything to offer. But I greatly appreciate the opportunity to view them. Thanks to you all. :)

Since I'm digging thru knives today, here's a couple more:

That VANCO Indianapolis knife is an interesting one eisman eisman , Goins has Vanco as c.1888 to 1940... I spotted this excerpt in my Price & Zalesky 15th Edition:

And this in some other Adolph Kastor info I have:

I'm thinking that your VANCO knife is a pre-WWII Camillus manufactured knife. I checked the pin placements and blade details against some 1930s Camillus bone jacks and they are spot on. I'm curious what our "bone" expertise guys think?

Great knives all, trying to catch up today it's been awhile. In my search to find Cattaraugus knives I came across this group of items. The knife with the crest shield has one blade marked Cattaraugus and the other is marked J.L.F. That blade and most of the other items I were made by a John L. Farnham of St Johnsbury VT. It appears that he was a bladesmith and tool maker. The wooden pattern knife is marked 17 and G E Stevens and was in the group also. Love finding this neat cutlery stuff!!farnham3 (1024x683).jpg farnham2 (1024x683).jpg farnham1 (1024x683).jpg
