"Old Knives"

Nice batch Rick! I hope you are not insulted by my intemperate remarks on Bernie's forum! :o
Nice black ones janekc!
Kerry, I'd call that celluloid "Shaken, Not Stirred"!
Nice Chapman!! Looks kinda Schradey to me . . . . .;)

What an absolutely spectacular thread! I just read it from beginning to end: An Internet treasure trove, to be sure.

OUTSTANDING, RICK!
THANKS FOR SHARING...PLEASE KEEP 'EM COMING!;)

Rick - That NYKC swell center is a beauty!

JaneKC - I love that lot, they really do belong in my collection!

Kerry - I have never seen that style of celluloid before. But it has a punch, so you better keep it away from Charlie.

For today - An Ulster cokebottle jack

Thought I'd share this little Remington Jack. The R993 pattern is pretty pedestrian, but this example is special to me for its unusually nice feel, fit, 'n finish. The snap, smoothness and spring-tension are just perfect. It's also the closest example of a fresh-from-a-1930s-hardware-store Remington I have.

Very !

I'd take that pedestrian jack for a walk any day, Rick!!
Nicely detailed; you can see that Remington knew a thing or two about how to please a knife lover!

An 1890s catalog lists this congress pattern as a "Tobacco Knife". I don't think this knife goes back that far, but it does go back a ways. I love the care Sheffield cutlers took in fitting stag to the bolsters; gnarly all the way!!
