Re the OP Wilson Combat counterfeits, I've found that one can usually tell by the straight line at the bottom of the R on the CR logo - the genuine knife has a slight curve on the bottom of the R, while the counterfeit has a straight line.
Another sign is the machined grooves not extending all the way to the screw hole on the counterfeit - on the genuine one it extends right up to the hole. I've included a pic below to illustrate what I mean (counterfeit CR is the one on the right).
A third way is the different screws being used on the counterfeits.
