Old pivot umnumzaans

Great pics guys, thanks. If anybody has a pic of all the OP variants side by side that would be great!

Re the OP Wilson Combat counterfeits, I've found that one can usually tell by the straight line at the bottom of the R on the CR logo - the genuine knife has a slight curve on the bottom of the R, while the counterfeit has a straight line.
Another sign is the machined grooves not extending all the way to the screw hole on the counterfeit - on the genuine one it extends right up to the hole. I've included a pic below to illustrate what I mean (counterfeit CR is the one on the right).
A third way is the different screws being used on the counterfeits.

well WCC, now I can see exactly why you want that specific model..

the first pic from the officier's match post .... very nice..

I have a pre-Idaho model that I tried to sell on another site last year and it went nowhere. Might be the right time to dust it off!

That is a bit surprising..

So far I have Zero Umnumzaans. I really gotta get one before they're discontinued.

Is there any advantage to the old pivot other than looks?

I think its just looks to be honest. Everything is basically the same on them as far as mechanics.

Wow! Assuming you are talking about the Wilson Combat edition, I have been looking for one and have a WTB post on here for months without any hits! If you decide to sell let me know.

I had a first gen and found it much harder to open than the second and later generations - YMMV.

I agree that there's no mechanical difference between the old and new pivots, but I also agree that the look of the old pivot is what makes the knife visually distinctive.

I had an OP Umnumzaan Startac, it was awesome. Also had an OP Umnum Tanto. Sold both off and now I only have a traditional OP Umnum with Southard backspacer
How do i get my hands on one of the Southard Backspacers?
