• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Here is a mustard patina for contrast... Its French's yellow (although, I'm really a Spicy brown guy):

Hey mneedham - I've said it before, but that is just really cool how the patina just somehow matches the burl of your handle. Did it stay that way or is it more faded now?

Thats very thorough HornDog and you get points for work there. Why did you want to remove the coating under the slabs though? Wouldn't that coating under there just be great protection even if it sacrifices a thin strip of exposed tang under the handle slabs that isn't the same color as the blade?

Just wondering - and trying to rationalize my laziness :)

Because I wasn't smart enough to leave it on, I guess.:o

Oh wow, mneedum! That looks great. And I just happen to have three kinds of mustard in the fridge. That is very different than the vinegar patina. I figured that since mustard has vinegar in it, the results would be similar. That is quite dramatic.

Sweet and Hot is the way the to go. I actually cross the border to hit Target for the stuff!!!!!!
