Old school BM with the screw bolts

It has been my grail. All true hogs should have one but other hogs seem hell bent on sucking up all things shbm... cobalt I'm not necessarily talking about you.

I will have one.... Just not yet... I want some original run INFI

The funny thing is that aside from one off and custom side jobs, the 300's were far from the rarest SHBM's. Satin was more rare than anything else in the production run. Aside from LE's, it was almost impossible to find a satin.

I'm not trying to search forever my friend. I understand that they were not rare comparatively to the satin. I just love the fact that Jerry poured his heart and soul into the design, they all have subtle differences and those who know, KNOW.... THE ORIGINAL MISTRESS CAN'T BE BEAT.. There is a little bit of Jerry in each. This Damn INFI is getting me misty...lol

You know what amazes me. That this thread has become a cool discussion thread and the mods have not deleted all our postings, lol. Yes, the original SHBM run were all different. Even the ricasso plunge line area differed in width.

The original SHBMs were the chit. Just flat out awesome. I was here for the infancy of Busse Combat and it was great.

That said, I miss the heck out of my e-handles... [emoji24]

Now, I'll just wish you congrats again Cobalt, and hope like hell I don't get yellow carded. Lol

Maybe a mod could move it to the Busse forum, now that the deal is done?

It would give you a perfect place to put all the pictures for us to drool over, that's for sure.

you mean like this

Yep, exactly like that. ;)

Color me green man... You've been blessed by the SHBM fairy. What a collection!

Well, out of that group, I only have four left. Wish I still had the others.

lol, thanks. there is a 300 calling your name up above

Do you think that price is spot on or too high? It felt high to me... that's holding me up.... I prefer this threads price.

That center one is one that I had Ban refinish for me. It was beat to hell. I sent it to ban and he finished it for me. After he made it so pretty I moved on to my other users and never used it again. Then sold it off. Regets? I have many

Cobalt, I have a question.

On the original SHBMs with slotted screws, are the scales epoxied on? Or if you unscrew the bolts do they come off?

Always been curious about that.

Supposedly, epoxied, but I don't know of anyone who hasn't been able to remove them. I don't think the epoxy lasts that long anyway. I know I have taken the scales off of the third one from the right in the bottom pic with no problem.

Value is subjective. 5-6 years ago, they were going for more, a few years ago they were going for less. I do know that no one sets a fixed price, everyone has room to deal, right. If I didn't already have a few, I would have made a cash offer on that one as well. In fact the more I stare at it the more I like it and I may just do that. Don't hate me but SHBM's are my weakness.

I have to agree right now SHBM are my biggest weakness also. I will certainly search for new ones in the years to come.

They aren't epoxied on, just red locktite on the corbys. And fun fact of the day, older Busses only have 7/32" holes in the tang, unlike the newer ones that are 1/4"
