Olightstore, any experiences?

Glad you like your light.
I’ve made multiple purchases. Shipping has ranged from fast to really fast. The products have ranged from good to excellent, with one ”meh.”
I contacted CS by email once. One of my orders qualified for a freebie that I neglected to claim. They answered almost immediately and added the item into my shipment.

As a negative, they screen their customer ratings heavily and will only post 5-star reviews.

Love my Olight's! Been carrying Olight for almost a decade..
Stated with a, S10r Baton 2..

My biggest complaint.. I miss the old style clips!
Wish they were an option, to buy, still..

My favorite is Disco, now.. S1 Baton mini..
Luckily I noticed and bought a few, before they went extinct..

Mine range from, i1r2, Baton 3 premium, mini warriors, some of the gun lights w/green laser, perun, Perun 2, H1(mini perun), o pens,, etc, etc, etc... lol..

Yeah... I wish they would stop with the sales! Lmfao

I’ve made TOO MANY purchases from Olight, ha. Had to use CS once and it took some back and forth to conclude I was doing something wrong, oops. They seem to have the same product packaging and release strategy as iPhone. I do love their products though and the freebies they always include take care of Christmas gifts for several on my list. Don’t be skeered

The thing about Olight sales is you need to realize they do more than one "big" sale a year and not fall for the FOMO mentality.
It definitely takes some willpower, but sometimes it's better to just pay the 5 bucks shipping to get your "free" giveaway item than it is to find $50+ bucks worth of stuff you didn't want in the first place just to avoid those costs.

Yup. They do lots of sales. You've got to get it in your head about something that you actually want, then wait patiently for them to either make it (for me it was the RN1500, I needed a bike light and magically olight came out with one) or put an existing want in a sale bundle.

Lots of friends and family have ended up with a 3ti or 5ti as gifts since they throw those in for next to nothing.

So glad someone brought this up. On basic functionality, it's preferences- for example someone mentioned Zebralight and I hate my Zebralight, which IMO has very few options except moon and flash.... and a pitifully short turbo.

Olight has really pissed me off lately, I spend a lot with them and have sent thousands of dollars of referrals their way- my complaints are few but significant.

1st- if you change emails, you lose all your points. You might think this is just a marketing scam (and it partially is, a ton of points doesn't get much), but you do get first crack at new products which they often produce in limited colors.

2nd- They are still playing the Corona Card with not picking up their phones (even mom-n-pop shops have this figured out by now) , and a dozen emails later, they flat out are refusing to give me a number to call to discuss a few issues- I applaud their fluency in English, it's certainly better than my Mandarin, but there is definitely a communication breakdown. The "CS@Olight" address (Ellen) is obviously trying hard but does not pick up on some important details. I need to talk to a native English or at least more fluent rep, and they have been dodging this request for a month+

3rd- I actually USE different modes quite a bit, and am disappointed that their headlamps don't offer even a small red LED for not waking up family members when they are sleeping, or ruining my night vision, and they are missing other colors that serve specific purposes like tracking blood.

4th- They want to be seen as a big player and have an excellent site and other things that you associate with big players, but behind the curtain, they act like a small business. Like taking 2 weeks to pack your order before it even leaves China. Or not providing any live chat or customer service.

A huge issue I have is with the "damascus titanium" light they just offered as a limited edition. From what I can tell, this is not damascus, it's just flame and/or chemical/electrical anodization. I understand Timascus is a registered trademark, but I don't think that the i5T EOS (which is probably their worst light) is damascus by any definition, and besides it's just ugly. The ano is dull and lifeless. It's only value was in it's efficient use of alkaline batteries... otherwise it's just a larger than necessary 2 mode light. The i5T light sucks to begin with, making it rechargeable was probably the nail in the coffin.

They do a few other weird and annoying things like the new Obulb MC's best mode can't be accessed except by randomly clicking it on/off between 40-200 (!) times. WTF? .

I'm done with them unless I can sort out my account issues and they manage to do something innovative. Their best product, the LEP (not Led) weapon/handheld laser/phosphor light is incredible...but I got it at 50% of going rate now, and they don't seem to be pushing it. It should be their flagship. Maybe there is a parts issue or something on the Odin Turbo LEP....

Otherwise, while there is the potential for a great company here, their abysmal packing (as in it will sit in their warehouse 2 weeks) and then shipping (NOT a USA company, NO USA stock) combined with total lack of live customer service brings down their rating to a D+ or C- ... I guess 2.6/5 stars if you look at things that way.

Jeez. I don't know why in the world they wouldn't want to talk with you on the phone

I could go point by point of yours and counter but let's be honest, that is a waste of everyone's time. Might just be best for you to move on to another light company. I think olight will be fine doing what they do.

Your email problem seems easily remedied. Keep using your old email just for your Olight purchases

After checking the site it looks like your "Huge problem" regarding the Titanium Damascus is unfounded. from everything I could see it looks legit. You have to anodize timascus (flame only AFAIK) for the colors to come out and show the pattern.

Actually It seems most of your issues are non-issues for me, and I believe most casual users of their products.
I hear little to no complaints about CS.
I have found shipping to be fairly quick. Considering where it's coming from and our current global situation.
And Packaging has been top notch. Everything I've received from Olight has arrived in perfect shape.

Finally, I have absolutely ZERO clue what you see as the Obulbs "best mode". Most folks want normal low, normal high, and that's it. And when you do get to that secret coded "best mode", just turn off the light from there and it will turn back on where you left it.

Mountains & molehills. I doubt they will miss you if that's the stuff you're complaining about to CS.

Dammit Cray!!
Not only did you beat me to the punch, but your answer is WAY better than mine!

Nah my man, you did the point by point work I wasn't willing to do, so kudos! Agree 100% BTW. Some people don't understand why everything from CS experiences to the actual products can't be designed to fit them the way they see as perfect. Good companies have to wade through tons of this sort of nonsense, perhaps glean some valuable info but mostly ignore what ends up being unreasonable individuals that won't be missed when the cost benefit analysis is complete.

You don't seem to understand, when you need to change your email it's not just a matter of choosing which email to use, a job changes their email setup and the old one disappears.

Damascus means it's folded. I don't think this is anything but anodized. But I've only owned and handled one, so don't take my word for it when "everything you've seen is legit".

As far as the other stuff, you don't understand what I am talking about by the "secret" mode if you don't own one.

It's not OK for a major corporation to be unable to pick and pack an order for 2 weeks. I'm not talking about shipping, I am talking about charging your card and then waiting 2 weeks before they get around to shipping it.

"I hear little complaints" ? Check the BBB, there are lots of them. Good for you if you are happy with their service, I'm not.

Who in their right mind still uses their work email to conduct personal business and set up private accounts?? What is this 1994? Sorry bud, that was a bit harsh, but that is most definitely, 100% your fault. If Olight's system is incapable of transferring points, or if it is too much work for them to do so. Than it'sprobably for the best. Chalk it up to lesson learned, and create a private email account. It's easy, just go set one up at Google, or Yahoo, hell, even AOL still has personal email.

re: timascus-The best way to really bring out the swirly patterns (yes, made from forging different types of titanium together) and different colors on timascus is by flame anodizing it. You can fake it by electro ano, but it looks way too clean and is pretty easily noticed. As I said. That I5r looks like the real deal

I own 2 Obulbs and still have no clue what this secret mode is. I press it 9 times to completely cycle through the modes and nothing seems at all special about any of them. So please enlighten me.

Looks like you have to have the Obulb MC to get the "secret mode".

You use your work email for non-work related transactions? Or are you trying to claim the points from work purchases?

On some runs of olights, they aren't made until all the orders from a sale are in, thus "delays". Can't ship what isn't made yet.

Of course, given all the nonsensical comments we've seen from your various usernames over the last year or two, it is not surprising you aren't clued in to these things. I'm glad you are learning here on the forum!

Looks like you have to have the Obulb MC to get the "secret mode".

Ha! I had no idea. That's pretty neat. I'll have to try it. Thanks for showing the vid.
Now although it is a cool feature, I wouldn't describe it as the "best feature on an Obulb, unless you're at a rave. I still say plain white-low and plain white-high are the best, most practical modes by far.

What is the "best" mode on the OBulb? I heard something about it, but haven't had the time to check it out.

Also, I've had to email them on some issues and never had any problems, they usually respond pretty quickly. I would like to seem some nice 4000-5000K Tints though.

ETA" Never mind, just saw the above posts.

I use work email because I am there 12 hours a day and I don't have access to Olight (blocked) or personal email, and almost zero cell signal at work, lit of presumption on your part.

Zero desire to explain anything else to you, Google it.

I sincerely doubt the "titanium Damascus" is pattern welded or folded. Just a flame ano.

Shipper has generated a shipment label, but the shipment has not yet been handed over to DHL

2+weeks and not shipped.

No desire to continue this conversation with you.
