Oliver Plomion

Thanks for the update Nemo, its good to hear that he is at least alive and well, not good to hear that it was your Tracker thats at the shop. Hopefully thinks will start to work out and come together now.

Bonjour,

Olivier Plomion tried to contact me this morning leaving me a voice message telling me that actually the knife was for me and he warned Fred Perrin the day they met. In addition he is looking for another Trakker for me (!!!)
Strange that Fred (a man of honor) doesn't remember at all that Olivier Plomion told him "this Trakker was for me". Especially when Fred knew I was meeting with him the day after to test Campknives in 'his' forest...

Simple questions :

1/ Why Olivier Plomion did not warn/contact me before to let the knife in the shop "for me"?
2/ If this knife was "for me", why is there now a tag price of 400 Euros on "my" Trakker in this famous Parisian Shop ? The owner of the shop asked about that to Olivier Plomion before to put this item on sale. And then why is he looking for another one (to his words not in the same good condition) for me since I post my experience in the forum ? ...

This situation is really embarrasing and doesn't look fair to me. How I can trust this guy in the future ?

JM

Hi Nemo!

I know you feel strange, but I know it's a misunderstanding. I was with oli in paris that day and He told me that the tracker was for you. there have been some mishaps, but I also know that you don't have any money out!!!!! Oli have said that you could try this knife and then pay or trade with him later!!! I also know that he have tryed to come in contact with you more then once and you have not reacted. He have said on your answer machin that he will try to find another knife for you, why have you not taken that offer??? I just ask. For like leatherman I only know Oli from a very very good side!!!

It's strange that I have to say these things, but the man have no acces to the web right now and can not defend or explain himself! why do you not call him???????? I also know that oli have 8 parcels taken by the danish costums right know and he is dealing with it and try to find out who that have not got the knives he have traded with!!! so he is always trying to be the best on trading!!!

So don't say you can't trust oli, when you are not telling the hole story yourself!!

Nicolai

I'll have to second Nicolai here. Just spoke to Oli on the phone and he gave me the very same explanation.
Nemo, I suggest you call Oli ASAP. He really would like to talk to you and get it sorted out once and for all.
And as Nico mentions, he has a bunch of (potentially serious) problems with the stupid danish customs to deal with as well.

The best

Hello guys,

I have been telling the whole story and I am really not happy about it so far.

I would like to answer to Olivier Plomion BUT
the number which is left on my mobile after his four messages doesn't work .
And I don't have his number.

As far as you are concern, the question about having my money out or not is absolutly not your business Mr 'Nicolai Brix'.

(I have a deal with Mr Plomion. trading his Trakker for one of my knife.
The details: Olivier and I were agree to exchange it again a small Sebenza (same value) and even asked me if I could send it back to Chris Reeve to add a double thumb stud... Then, in March, he told me he already got a small Sebenza and he would be more interested to trade his Trakker for the Fallkniven A2 I was testing for La Passion Des COuteaux. As the Trakker was also taken for that article it was OK for me...)

So far my questions are simple.

-Why Olivier Plomion is looking for ANOTHER trackker IF the first one has NOT been already sale to the Parisian Shop last tuesday ???
-Why the owner of the Shop (Isidore) did not tell me this knife was reserved for me when I called him and asked about the Trakker thursday morning ???!!! He never mentionned I could take it . No, no, the price was now 400 Euros. Period.

SO: my next step is not yet to talk with mr Plomion but instead to have another phone talk with Isidore where the knife is NOW displayed "to sale" in his shop (Not put behing the desk waiting for me, like Olivier Plomion said it was.).

But really, do you believe Isidore will let me use 'his' 400 Euros knife now that he has made a deal it with Olivier ???
I really doubt of that.

Anyway I'll call him tomorrow and I 'll let you know.

Best regards

JM

Lets see if I understand this properly, your not out anything, you lost no money and no merchandise. Possibly a little time and effort. Yet you hijacked threads and opened a lot of old wounds in at least two other forums, and hijacked this thread, and you didnt lose a penny????? You did this because you felt slighted? There are many that are out their money, and their knives are sitting in Danish customs. And you are upset because your deal fell through???

Agree with Dwayne here! Nemo, the phone number you have is most likely a danish cell phone number and you may experience problems if there's no coverage. Remember to dial +45 to "get out of France". Even though Oli is indeed in France, you are still calling a danish phone number.

Dear Leatherman,

do you really believe money is everything in a trade ?
Such a shame !

Losing time, opportunities to trade with others,
and the subject of an article for a magazine (which represents an amount of money) is perharps not important in your own perspective but in mine it is.

Don't you believe also that trading between two forumites include also honor and respect ?
In regards of all the emails I have received, obviously I am not the only one to have issues with Olivier Plomion in the Forums and also in France.

Dannish custom story :
Strange, all the knives (including the Trakker*) Olivier Plomion has trade last tuesday to the Parisian Shop were absolutly not blocked by any Dannish Customs but all the others knives he was trading with fellow forumites ! !!!

*Also keep in mind two peoples (myself and Cole) have trade with Olivier for the same Trakker in the same time !!! Do you think Olivier Plomion is fullfilling his deal ?

Again Olivier Plomion propose to me another Trakker.
Does it mean he always knew the one he left at the knife shop was not for me ?
Illogical.

And all of these are facts, facts and more facts.

But this is true dear Leatherman, compared to other (who have sent money) , my issue is minor. le's say I was lucky.

cheers,

JM

There was more than one Tracker in Oli's possession, its stated more than once in the for trade and the for sale thread in the other forum, he had one used and at least one new condition, that said yes it is possible that he was selling and trading more than one Tracker knife. At one time I had four of the same type knife, it is possible.

Um, the knife in question was carried over in a moving van, not mailed, so how could it have been held up in customs? If a trade that I have in line falls through, and many have its a fact of life, and no money or knives are lost, then I have no problem. What I am saying is there was no need for you to go as far as you did, it is sounding more like a personal vendetta than a complaint about a deal fallen through.

I agree Tom, it is a little long eh? I would not do it. Of course that is just me.....

A personnal vendetta? Come on!
What for??!

Um, why send knives by parcel when you can take them by Van ?
The mail between Denmark and France is really expensive !
Not my business anyway.

I never asked to Olivier Plomion to sell his knife !
just have been waiting to meet him actually !!!

And this is true
5 monthes is much to long... I should have stop that trade long time ago.

cheers

Bonjour,

I have reach Isidore at Armes Bastille (Parisian Knife Shop) today.
He has confirmed that he has bought the Trakker from Olivier Plomion.
Never did Olivier Plomion tell him this knife was for me, ever or even mention my name !!! Isidore has been really clear on that matter.

So my disappointment toward Olivier Plomion way to be faithful to his word is total.
I won't trust him any more and I won't deal with him.

Case closed.

cheers

JM

Well, thanks to Leatherman and Oli's friends we have came to a resolution on my end of the deal. All is well, and I don't blame Oli for this whole mess, but I do blame Danish customs. An afterthought, I was out money and time with this deal with Oli, but his friends pulled together to make this right, even though it was not their place. That is what a community is all about, and that is why I enjoy spending time here. And as far as Nemo goes, Quit stirring the shite up. If you are patient and respectful, all will work out in the end.

Hi cole!

I'm pleased that We could help so it would work out! hope you got a good deal!! let me know if there is anything I can do!

Nicolai

:grumpy: i never wanted to stir it up . i just wanted to let make some people aware of a situation with a forumite. i hope that this all is a major misunderstanding and i would gladly appoligize for my part of it if..... my knife arrives... the reason i waited so long to contact paypal is because i wanted to give this guy a chance.. but i emailed him many times and received no replys.. having no former experiance with him what would anybody else ,in my situation,think....again lets hope the knife arrives ..he said about two weeks and it has been over five, and no word yet

I also have not received the knife that I paid Mr. Plomion for on the 4th of April.

Furthermore, I have received neither a progress report nor an answer from Mr. Plomion in response to my emailed question for a tracking number.

At this point I am exploring my options for a chargeback from my Visa issuer.

I understand that sometimes there are obstacles to efficient transactions, but Mr. Plomion also ought to understand that it is good business practice to inform his buyers of problems. Email and good phone service make this more feasible than ever before.

Best

Andrew

Nah, go for the chargeback!!!

Unless the knife is a one of a kind forget it, get the credit card Comapny to refund you and buy it from someone or some place that can deliver within a reasonable period of time.

Is this particular to Danish Customs or are they angry at Oli?

Normally the Danish Customs wouldn't be particularly interested in parcels containing knives unless we're talking about knife types which are illegal to own in Denmark (i.e. autos, balis, double-edged blades).

They might also be interested in parcels where actual contents and description of contents do not match (also with regards to the value of the contents).

I have no idea if this is the case here, I haven't dealt with Oliver, I'm just sharing my experiences with Danish Customs.

Is this the knife in question? If so, I don't think this knife would fall under any of the prohibited categories of knives, but I guess you never know which conclusions customs might come to...
