#OMG - I've turned into that weird Opinel guy....what the heck!!!

I just came across this thread and feel i must issue a warning, back last summer i came across two Opinels a #8 & #9 in my toolbox both a bit ratty after all they are 40 some years old anyhoo i cleaned them up, wasnt hard and the next thing you know i am ordering fancy ones off of Amazon til i had 10 Opinels, but it didnt stop there oh no next thing i am on the interweb ordering Laguioles, Capuchadou , Thiers and Garonnes there are so many French hand made knives it can easily get out of hand, thankfully my therapist also known as my bank manager has helped me get it under control...

I love Opinels. They're light weight and really sharp. I mostly use Opinels for food preparation. In my kitchen I use a #8 Effile a lot and there's always a regular #8 with me when I go camping. Over the years I gave Opinels as a present, also to non-knife-people. Most people here know Opinels; a lot of the Dutch spend their summer vacations in France.

Here's an overview of my current Opinels.

I also have a couple of these knives which look a lot like Opinels. They are the size of an Opinel #9, have plastic handles and the same locking mechanism as Opinels. The text on their blades say "Le Bedjuis" and "Inox Swiss Made". I bought them a few years ago for about 3 euro each. I gave one to my father, who uses his one for yard work.

OP is hilarious (that's all I could muster for my first post). I too am obsessed with my lil carbone number 8. I may rob the number 6 that lives in my wife's purse as well. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THESE THINGS?!?!?! lolol thanks!
