I filled whole yellow pad page with possible variations before
I "accepted" UNDUE as the only possible answer. 🤷‍♂️

I finally "googled" UNDUE and learned that it does not mean the same thing as UNDO and would be an acceptable answer.

I know that I have used UNDO incorrectly to mean UNDUE in the past. Lesson learned. I'll try not to make this mistake again!

My thing was phonetic. I knew UNDUE meant undeserved, by when I go through word by word trying out different options in my mind, I'm 'hearing' it in my head. I knew it was __DUE, but when I ran 'UNDUE' phonetically in my head I heard "UNDO" and didn't think about the less-common homophone. Actually right up until I got it, I was certain the pattern was __DUE, but every word I was coming up with was longer than five letters.
 
A tricky one . . . took WordleBot 5 guesses to solve it.
