Yay, down to two after two, and I went with the more common word, although it was a close call, as the other word was something I think the Wordle Editor probably knows about.

One of my rules of thumb is that if a word is jargon-y or technical and it's related to the military, technical work or the trades, or weapons, I assume it won't have occurred to a NYT employee and guess one of the other choices. This one was tough because the uncommon word was one I figured he or she would know.

As an unrelated aside, I am wondering if the Wordle will ever be KNIFE, and if it is, what our forum average will be for guesses!
